Skylight Music Theatre features six Shorewood youth in The Sound of Music

Premiering for the first time in Skylight Music Theatre’s 54 year history is the beloved musical, The Sound of Music, the true story of the von Trapp Family singers complete with cherished Rogers and Hammerstein melodies. Skylight’s production of the classic musical will feature the largest cast to date with a total of 62 members. Twenty-three of those members are youth actors from the local Milwaukee area including six from Shorewood.

Brady Tutton (Kurt) – Brady, 10, is a 5th grader at Atwater school. Theatre credits include Seussical (JoJo) and My Son Pinocchio (Ringleader) at First Stage, A Christmas Carol (twice as Tiny Tim) at Drury Lane Chicago and Marriot Theatre (musical version) and he was the boy soloist for The Armed Man with Menomonee Falls Symphony Orchestra. He is also in two feature films, "LOL" (Jackson) and "Sleep, Wake, Forget" (Young Max) and is the recurring voice of Little Jack on the animated Disney show "Doc McStuffins."

Isabella Lozier (Marta) – Isabella is a 3rd grader in Shorewood. Her favorite roles include Cossette in Les Miserables and Gretel in Sound of Music, both at Shorewood High School. She enjoys singing with the Milwaukee Children's Choir and dancing at Milwaukee Ballet.

Asha Metcalfe (Gretl) – Six year old Asha is thrilled to make her stage debut as Gretl! Asha was born in Milwaukee to Australian and British parents and she has loved listening to and watching The Sound of Music since she was three. Asha has many "Favorite Things" - her favorite animal is a joey, her favorite food is a lamington (an Aussie cake!) and then of course, there are cream-colored ponies!

Casey Tutton (New Postulant) – Casey, 15, a sophomore at Shorewood High School, was Lily in Skylight's The Music Man. Other professional theatre credits include My Son Pinocchio (Arancia), Gossamer (Littlest One) and Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse (Amy) at First Stage, plus Jakes Women (Molly) at Sunset Playhouse. TV/Film credits include three feature films The Key Man, Hannah Free and The Poker House, as well as CBS TV pilot The Line and TNT movie Gifted Hands.

Lindsay Nelsen (Marta) – Lindsay is so excited to join The Sound of Music cast at Skylight. She is a fifth grader at Atwater Elementary in Shorewood. Lindsay began acting in 2nd grade as Cosette in Les Misérables at SHS. She has also performed as Little Girl in Ragtime, Shirley in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and ensemble in Beauty and the Beast.

Ryan Tutton (Rolf)
Ryan, 17, a senior at Shorewood High School was Tommy Djilas in Skylight's The Music Man. Other professional theatre credits include Never Ending Story (Atreyu) and The Giver (Jonas) at First Stage, Macbeth (MacDuff’s son) at Chicago’s Breadline and Oliver! (Oliver) on Cameron MacIntosh’s National Tour. Film credits include A Day in the Life of Your Cats- Winner Audience Choice Award at Hollywood's Chinese Theatres, leads in four short films, feature Glory Days (Young Johnny-2012) and TV guest staring roles on Jericho and Nickelodeon's How To Rock.

The show will run from November 16 to December 31 in the Cabot Theatre. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Skylight box office at 414-291-7800 or online at www.skylightmusictheatre.org. Filled with childhood favorites like “Do-Re-Mi”, “My Favorite Things” and “Edelweiss”, The Sound of Music is the perfect family show for the holiday season!
