1A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of clothing valued at more than $300 from her employer, T.J. Maxx, 9020 N. Green Bay Road, at 1:15 p.m. Oct. 1. She said she was having financial problems and needed things that she couldn't afford. Most of the thefts occurred in September.

1A 20-year-old man and 22-year-old woman both of Milwaukee were arrested for theft of items valued at more than $400 and the woman also for possession of a theft shielding device at Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 2:45 p.m. Oct. 1. The couple was seen going into a men's fitting room with an empty large purse and exiting with it no longer empty. As they fled the store, the woman dropped the purse and when stopped, she admitted carrying it but denied knowing stolen items were inside. The woman had a pair of jeans hidden in her jacket and the man had a shirt hidden in his pants.

3A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for obstruction after giving a false name and theft of 12 items worth $202 at Old Navy, 9094 N. Green Bay Road, at 12:45 p.m. Oct. 5. She fled the store with the items, ran into another store exiting at a back door setting off an alarm. The woman had been arrested for theft twice in the last year and has a felony theft pending in Outagamie County.

4Five outdoor air conditioners were damaged when copper tubing was removed in the 5600 block of West Brown Deer Road sometime Oct. 5 to Oct. 8. Damage was estimated at $3,000.

5A 22-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent in the 8600 block of North 62nd Street at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6. The man had taken his grandfather's car, drove to another relative's house and asked for money. Later he said he took the car because he didn't "feel like walking anymore."

6A 20-year-old Wauwatosa woman was cited for underage drinking after she stumbled into the Holiday Inn, 4443 W. Schroeder Drive, at 1 a.m. Oct. 7. An employee realized the woman needed assistance and called police. The woman, who admitted being underage and had been drinking, said she was lost. She'd been in a car with friends but left them because the driver had been drinking. Her preliminary blood alcohol content was 0.228.

7An 18-year-old Brown Deer man and two Milwaukee men, 19 and 22, were arrested for possession of marijuana after a witness reported them smoking the drug in a car in the 4100 block of West Rivers Edge Circle at 5 p.m. Oct. 8. When police arrived, the odor of marijuana was evident outside the car and when one of the men opened a door, a large cloud of smoke came out.

8A wallet, including credit cards and $30 cash, was taken from an unsecured men's locker at YMCA, 9250 N. Green Bay Road, early evening Oct. 10.

9A 24-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic after punching a hole in basement drywall in the 4800 block of West Terry Avenue at 3:20 p.m. Oct. 12. The man got angry according to his mother when she told him he had to pay rent or find another place to live. He admitted being angry and yelling.


10Two thefts of cash totaling $33 were reported at Lubavitch Preschool, 6401 N. Santa Monica Blvd., on Oct. 9 and 10. The money was taken from a desk in a locked office.

11A man, age and residence not available, was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, after pulling into a bank parking lot in the 8700 block of North Port Washington Road at 2:10 a.m. Oct. 13. The man appeared to be sleeping and police had to knock on the roof of the car to awaken him. He was taken for a blood draw and when the doctor asked if he'd been drinking, answered "I'm livin' the dream." The man then asked if someone "wanted to do some shots."

12A 17-year-old Fox Point boy was to be mailed a citation for underage drinking in the 8200 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 2 a.m. Oct. 14.

13An ottoman and two lounge cushions valued at more than $800 were taken from a yard in the 500 block of West Bradley Road on Oct. 15 or 16.


A woman reported that more than $3,000 had been taken from her credit union checking account some time last year and reported Sept. 28. The case is under investigation.

14An 18-year-old man, residence not listed, was arrested for possession of prescription medicine without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia after arriving to see his parole officer at the Wisconsin Department of Correction, Probation and Parole Facility, 4160 N. Port Washington Road, about 4 p.m. Oct 4. The man arrived on a bicycle and was seen leaving his backpack outside. In that backpack, there were numerous prescription pills including hydrocodone and Vicodin. Also found was a glass pipe, grinder, scale and another bag of various pills which he called a "party pack." He asked how long he would be in jail saying, "I really screwed up."

15A 50-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving and refusal to take a breath test after she was found "passed out" in her running car at Kaul's Gas Station, 209 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 3 a.m. Oct. 12. Police knocked on her window numerous times before she responded. She failed a few field sobriety tests and then refused to take the rest. She also had mood swings from calling an officer names and then asking another to go out with her after work.

16A police canine unit drug check of "random classrooms" and the parking lot was done at Nicolet High School, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Road, about 8:30 a.m. Oct. 12. The dog alerted on three cars, two of them "substantiated." Parents were notified.

17A woman was attacked by another woman who hit her in the face at least 10 times at the Aurora Advanced Health Care, 3003 W. Good Hope Road, at 10:20 a.m. Oct. 12. The victim is a caretaker for another woman she described as "mentally challenged" who receives state and federal benefits. The victim said the suspect tried to lure that woman away so she could receive those benefits. The victim also said that about two weeks ago, the mentally challenged woman had gone missing for nine days alleging that the suspect held her hostage. Police are attempting to find the suspect described as a female, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, more than 170 pounds with gold hair.

18A suitcase filled with men's clothes valued at $1,000 was taken from a locked car at the Radisson Inn, 7065 N. Port Washington Road, the morning of Oct. 12. A window was broken to gain entry.

19The plumbing/valves on an upright urinal and toilet were taken from the men's room at Burger King, 5260 N. Port Washington Road, between 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Oct. 13. The value was listed as $700. An employee said there have been similar thefts at other Burger Kings in Milwaukee and Chicago.

20Two Milwaukee women, 25 and 26, were arrested for theft of items valued at $325 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 13. The women were seen entering a fitting room with many items and a flat purse and exiting with no items and a bulging purse. They left the store attempting to drive away but were stopped. The younger woman denied taken anything but the older woman admitted taking items for herself and also for someone who gave her a list of what to steal. She said that person was going to buy the stolen items from her at half price.

21A 50-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for disorderly conduct after a security guard, who was directing a semitrailer truck, reported that the man pulled up behind him, honked his horn and then bumped him with his car in the 5600 block of North Port Washington Road at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 15. The suspect, who had parked his car and gone into a restaurant, denied hitting the guard saying he was just trying to park his car. He told an officer he pays "$100,000 in property taxes and pay your wages" adding he doesn't like "people standing in front of him."

22A 36-year-old woman, residence not listed, was arrested for theft of items valued at $215 from Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 7:20 p.m. Oct. 16. The woman took items into a fitting room with an empty shopping bag and left with a filled one. She said she intended to sell the items to pay her overdue energy bill.

23A $1,000 laptop computer, some cash and clothing, value not listed, was taken from Cyga Yoga, 3575 N. Oakland Ave., Oct. 13 or 14. A door to the office had been pried open but a door to the building was unlocked.

24A pair of sunglasses valued at $30 and a small amount of change was taken from a car in the 1900 block of East Newton Avenue and some change was also taken from a car in the 4200 block of North Murray Avenue both Oct. 14 or 15.

25Paint valued at $260 was taken from Sherman Williams, 3510 N. Oakland Ave., about 10:30 a.m. Oct. 15. Two males were seen taking the paint, exiting through the overhead door and driving off in a van. The men were described as being between 40 and 50 years old.

26A 2006 Honda Odyssey van and, according to the owner, with more than $1.5 million dollars of jewelry inside was taken from the 3500 block of North Lake Drive about 11:15 a.m. Oct. 15. A bag possibly taken from the van was recovered in the city of Milwaukee. The owner said the jewelry was in the van because they were moving.

27An unsecured bicycle valued at $200 was taken from a rack at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, just before 1 p.m. Oct. 15. Surveillance video showed a male taking the bike.

28A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for obstruction/resisting and loitering after he ran from police in the 3400 block of North Murray Avenue at 4:40 p.m. Oct. 17. The man admitted smoking marijuana in the alley a bit earlier but said it was all gone now.

29A 20-year-old Whitefish Bay man was cited for underage drinking after he was found semiconscious at a bus stop on Oakland Avenue and Capitol Drive at 3:22 a.m. Oct. 18. The man did admit drinking and told police he was 21.

30A case holding 30 cartons of cigarettes valued at $2,100 was taken from Walgreens, 4081 N. Oakland Ave., about 2 p.m. Oct. 18. The case was sitting on other cases when two men grabbed it, fled the store, and left in an SUV without plates.

31Two Milwaukee men, 27 and 32, were arrested for loitering and possession of drug paraphernalia at Walgreens, 4081 N. Oakland Ave., at 3:45 p.m. Oct. 18. The men had a syringe, pipe and cup all with residue.

32A tablet valued at $100 was taken from a package left in an apartment lobby in the 1900 block of North Shorewood Boulevard the afternoon of Oct. 18.


33A laptop computer valued at $600 was taken from the 4800 block of North Ardmore Avenue sometime Oct. 1 to Oct. 14. A rear window screen had been cut and a double hung window opened to gain entry. A computer mouse was found on that window sill which had been taken during a burglary in the 4800 block of North Ardmore Avenue early morning Oct. 3.

A resident reported receiving a call from "Medicare" telling her she needed a new card and needed to verify her social security number and her bank information at 11:40 a.m. Oct. 16. When the resident questioned the caller, the caller hung up.

34Gunshots coming from the south or southwest were reported by residents in the 4800 and 4900 blocks of N. Anita Avenue and the 100 block of East Chateau Place about 12:45 a.m. Oct. 18.

35A resident called police after finding a man sitting in his wife's car in the 6000 block of North Bay Ridge Avenue at 6:45 a.m. Oct. 19. The suspect, who wore a black hooded shirt and was about 5 feet 10 inches, 160 pounds, fled the scene. Nothing was reported taken.

A resident reported being the victim of a scam after applying for a job as a secret shopper Oct. 19. She lost $1,486.

A Whitefish Bay man, age not listed, was arrested for battery/domestic after his wife reported that he choked and kicked about 7:30 a.m. Oct. 20.

36An officer was flagged down by three people who said a pit bull had been so aggressive toward them they couldn't get away in the 4600 block of North Estabrook Parkway at 5:40 p.m. Oct. 20. Police were unable to catch the dog and called animal control and they too were unable to catch the dog.

37Six cars were entered and rifled through but nothing of value reported taken in the 6000 and 6100 blocks of North Shoreland Avenue and the 5700 block of North Shore Drive on Oct. 19 or 20.

38A smartphone, value not listed, was taken from a car either in Milwaukee or in the 500 block of East Carlisle Avenue sometime Oct. 20.

39A 2013 white Ford Taurus was taken from the 5900 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 20 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 21. It was recovered in the 2500 block of North Buffum Street, Milwaukee. A check book was missing.
