Police Report: June 17

June 17, 2013


1A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of a drug pipe and failure to stop at a sign at Pelham Parkway and Brown Deer Road at 10 p.m. June 12. When asked for proof of insurance, the man said, with his hands trembling, it was his parents' car and he didn't know where it was. He was told to look in the glove box which he did revealing a pill bottle and the pipe which he tried to conceal. The bottle held 2 grams of marijuana and the pipe had marijuana residue.


2Four men were arrested for disorderly conduct and one also for underage drinking, ages and residences not released, after fighting at Brown Deer Lanes, 4715 W. Bradley Road, at 11:35 p.m. May 30. The fight began allegedly when two of the men "flirted" with women, friends of the other men. Only minor injuries were reported.

3Two girls and a boy, ages and residences not released, were cited for underage drinking after the boy was found walking in the 6200 block of West Tower Avenue at 1:24 a.m. May 31. Police were patrolling the area because of recent car break-ins. They all smelled of alcohol and at least one admitted drinking. The boy's preliminary blood alcohol content was 0.10 and the girls' were 0.14 and 0.08.

4A wallet with $35 cash was taken after a student left it on a desk in art class at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., at 10 a.m. June 4. The wallet with the money missing was found in a boys bathroom.

5A man and woman, ages and residences not released, were arrested for theft and the woman also for party to the crime of theft after taking a helium tank, a chocolate fountain, a balloon bouquet and party lights valued at $227 from Party City, 9190 N. Green Bay Road, at 12:45 p.m. June 5. The man ran from the store and the woman drove off but both were caught. In that car, police found items valued at more than $400 taken from Michael's and other stores.

· A Brown Deer man is a suspect in disorderly conduct/domestic violence related and theft after his girlfriend reported he slapped her and then fled in her car at 1:40 p.m. June 5. The man had taken jewelry and other property valued at more than $1,500. He was arrested in Grafton and the case is under review by the District Attorney.

6A man reported an attempted strong-armed robbery after he was attacked by two men after they all got off a bus in the 6500 block of West Brown Deer Road at 5 p.m. June 6. The suspects punched the victim and pushed him down but fled the scene without getting any property. The victim, who had a number of cuts and scratches, said the suspects were males, 17 to 21, one wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

7Two wallets and contents including small amounts of cash and credit cards were taken from a break room at the Tile Shop, 9130 N. Green Bay Road, sometime on June 7.

8A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, driving with a revoked license, failure to have insurance and driving the wrong way on a divided highway in the 7600 block of North Teutonia Avenue at 2:36 a.m. June 8. The man, who said he had maybe a beer or two, had a BAC of 0.11 and was taken for a blood draw.

9A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of about two grams of marijuana after a report of the odor of marijuana in a room at Holiday Inn, 4443 W. Schroeder Drive, at 3 a.m. June 8. Canine Officer Vader "indicated" at the door to the room and on a waste basket in the room where two large blunts were found.

10About $150 cash was taken at Pick 'n Save, 9200 N. Green Bay Road, about 8:45 a.m. and reported at noon June 8.

· A Brown Deer girl, age not released, was cited for underage drinking at her home, address not released, at 6:25 a.m. June 11. Her parents had called police earlier when they found the girl had left home. Police came to the residence and after they left the parents called again because the girl returned and was "possibly intoxicated." Her BAC was 0.082.


11Items valued at more than $200 including eight containers of baby formula and a $34 bottle of vodka were taken from CVS Pharmacy, 8661 N. Port Washington Road, at 5:23 p.m. June 10. A man carrying a backpack and a woman with a purse put the items into another bag and fled the store. As they ran to their car, the man told the woman to cover the license plate with a plastic bag which she did. He began to drive away with the woman running outside the car. She was able to jump in and they fled. The theft was caught on video.


· Warrants were issued for a 26-year-old Milwaukee man for felony criminal charge of disorderly conduct/domestic abuse and felony domestic abuse repeater at 12:30 a.m. June 7. The man came to the victim's home, his former girlfriend and the mother of his child, asking if he could do his laundry there. She let him in and he told her he didn't have any laundry and demanded to see their child. He then threatened her, hit her and damaged her car before fleeing. The woman asked for instructions to sign a 72-hour no contact order.

12A 20-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct at La Quinta Inn, 5110 N. Port Washington Road, at 6:45 a.m. June 7. The woman came to the Inn looking for her boyfriend. They met in a hallway where she began to yell and scream profanities when he told her to return his cellphone. She refused to quiet down and wouldn't leave and police were called.

13A trumpet valued at $1,762 was taken from Brass Bell, 201 W. Silver Spring Drive, about 12:30 p.m. June 7. A white male in his 50s asked to see two trumpets and was taken to a practice room. He then told an employee he had to use the rest room and after a short time left the store saying he needed to go to his car. He was seen walking across the street not to a car and the employee then checked the practice room and found only one trumpet.

14A 47-year-old woman, residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct at PNC Bank, 7001 N. Port Washington Road, at 10:45 a.m. June 7. The woman was speaking with an employee about overdrafts and fee issues when she started to yell using profane language in front of other customers. She left slamming a door against the wall but was found and arrested.

15A 14-year-old girl, residence not released, was arrested for theft of a $9 shirt and possession of 0.3 grams of marijuana at Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 6 p.m. June 7. The girl, who was with her mother, attempted to leave the store without paying for the shirt. It was recovered and the marijuana was found in her purse.

16An independent contractor owner of a company that exports cars overseas to sell them reported June 10 he was the victim of a fraud/swindle by his employee after the contractor purchased a red Porsche Cayenne valued at $76, 511 from Concours Motors, 1400 W. Silver Spring Drive, the end of February. The contractor wired the money to Concours and sent that employee to pick it up. That employee had the car registered in his name and the contractor said he never returned with the car.

17Four smartphones, with a total value of $2,450, were taken from AT&T, 6150 N. Port Washington Road, within two hours of 6:30 p.m. June 10.

18A 37-year-old Glendale woman was arrested for battery after hitting another woman in the 6500 block of North Sidney Place at 8:50 p.m. June 10. The victim had come to the suspect's home asking her if her husband was there. The suspect said yes he was and he was "just putting his pants on." The two women began to fight and the suspect punched the wife in the eye causing injury.


19A 29-year-old Waukesha man was charged June 14 with felony theft of jewelry from the 1400 block of West Spruce Court taken before June 5. The suspect, a contractor doing work inside the home, reportedly took jewelry valued at more than $12,000 including rings, earrings and a pearl necklace valued at $3,200. Most, if not all, of the jewelry was pawned at stores in Brookfield and Waukesha. Some has been recovered but some was already melted down when the theft was discovered. The man is to appear before the District Attorney on June 21 or an arrest warrant will be issued.


20Three storm windows were damaged by BB pellets in the 4400 block of North Prospect Avenue on June 5 and reported June 7.

21A male employee, age and residence not released, was arrested for theft from his employer, Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., at 7:25 p.m. June 7. The theft was caught on surveillance video as he walked through the self-checkout lane taking cases of soda, orange juice, candy and a mop valued at more than $40.

22All four tires on a car were slashed in a parking complex in the 1700 block of East Capitol Drive on June 7 or 8. Damage was $500.

23A female, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, refusal to take a breath test and failure to stop in the 3800 block of North Oakland Avenue at 1:40 a.m. June 7. She was taken for a blood draw.

24A smartphone valued at $480 was taken from a locker in the girls locker room at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, between 1 and 2:10 p.m. June 7.

25A Delafield man was cited for littering after putting garbage into a Dumpster behind Walgreens, 4081 N. Oakland Ave., about 9 p.m. June 8. He was traced though his cable bill.

26Four cars were broken into and items taken from each in the 4000 block of North Estabrook Parkway between 2 and 3:15 p.m. June 9. Taken was a $400 smartphone, a $200 cellphone, a $150 digital media player and a purse with $300 cash and credit cards. Damage was estimated at $200 or more.

27A female, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, possession of a fake ID, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after being stopped for speeding in the 3500 block of North Prospect Avenue at 2:20 a.m. June 10. The woman had a glass pipe, grinder and a trace amount of marijuana. She was taken for a blood draw.

28A Shorewood woman called 911 to report that someone in her building was snoring so loudly it kept her awake and she needed 12 hours of sleep every night in the 4600 block of North Wilson Drive at 1:15 a.m. June 13. She was informed this was not a police matter.

29An unknown woman tried to have a fraudulent prescription for 120 30 mg oxycodone pills filled at Hayek's Pharmacy, 4001 N. Downer Ave., about 3 p.m. June 13. The woman, described as about 5-foot 3-inches tall with red hair, was gone before police arrived.

30A 1975 Honda CL360 motorcycle valued at $1,000 was taken from an open garage in the 3800 block of North Oakland Avenue between 10 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. June 13.


31A resident was mailed a citation for open burning after a report of girls screaming and being disorderly in the 4900 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 2 a.m. June 14. Six girls were having a sleep over to celebrate the end of the school year.

32A gargoyle statue weighting 200 pounds and valued at $200 was taken and some planters damaged in the 6000 block of North Lake Drive on June 13 or 14.

33Two address signs were taken from the 6200 block of North Lake Drive sometime 3:15 to 5 a.m. June 14. The signs were found in the street in the same block and returned to their owners.

34An unsecured mountain bike, value not available, was taken at Richards School, 5812 N. Santa Monica Blvd., between 2:50 and 5 p.m. June 14.

35A resident reported being hit by a water balloon that also had rocks in it thrown by a juvenile in a car near Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 of E. Fairmount Ave., at 9:30 p.m. June 14. The vehicle, with a number of juveniles inside, was a large silver or white SUV. The resident was not injured.

36A man from a North Shore suburb, age not released, was arrested for possession of 6.3 grams of marijuana, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and nonregistration in the 100 block of East Hampton Road at 3:36 a.m. June 15. The man failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a blood draw.

37A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for obstruction, after giving a false name, driving with a suspended license, nonregistration and speeding 46 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 4700 block of Wilson Drive at 7:35 p.m. June 16.
