1An 18-year-old Grafton man was arrested for violation of absolute sobriety and driving without headlights in the 9000 block of Interstate 43 at 3:15 a.m. Dec. 22. The man, who denied drinking, had a blood alcohol content of 0.07. A 20-year-old Grafton man, a passenger, was cited for underage drinking. His BAC was 0.066.
2A 46-year-old Fox Point man was arrested for drunken driving and expired registration in the 8700 block of North Port Washington Road at 3 p.m. Dec. 30. The man's plate had a 2013 sticker but his registration had not been renewed. He denied drinking but failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.21.
3A 53-year-old Grafton man was arrested for drunken driving after being stopped for erratic driving including lane deviation at Port Washington and Fairy Chasm roads at 2 a.m. Jan. 1. After being stopped and before being asked, the man began to recite the alphabet stopping at the letter G. He was later asked to recite the complete alphabet but again stopped at G and then stared at the officer. He admitted having two beers and had a BAC of 0.15.
4A 26-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested on two outstanding warrants after she called 911 to complain that a store would not give her credit for returns at Old Navy, 9094 N. Green Bay Road, at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 24. The store did credit her for the items she had a receipt for but said she would have to contact corporate for the items she had without a receipt. The woman was found to have two Wauwatosa warrants for driving after revocation and possession/receiving stolen property.
A 66-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for battery/domestic violence related after he hit his wife of 35 years and knocked her down causing injury to the back of her head and bruising her arms at 12:15 a.m. Dec. 27. The victim said she and her husband have been legally separated for three years and that he had been violent many times during their marriage but she never called police because she didn't want to get him into trouble. The man denied the allegations saying she 'was crazy' and had hit and kicked him. She signed the 72-hour no contact order.
A 56-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related after pushing a woman into a pool table hurting her back at 11 p.m. Dec. 27. The suspect and his wife live with the victim and her husband and on this night he had been drinking and began to yell and scream at the victim. When she tried to speak with him, he pushed her. His preliminary blood alcohol content was 0.225.
A 57-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related after pushing a woman and causing a disturbance at 7:35 p.m. Dec. 28. The man said he and the woman had a verbal argument and although he might have bumped her there was no physical contact. The woman did not sign the 72-hour no contact order.
A 46-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for disorderly conduct and endangering safety by use of a weapon, both domestic violence-related after a 911 call reporting a man with a knife was threatening a woman and a dog at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 1. When police drove up to the home, they could hear yelling and screaming inside and then the man stumbled out of the home telling them he had done nothing wrong. A witness reported the man had been drinking and 'went crazy.' His preliminary BAC was 0.20.
5A 17-year-old Milwaukee girl was arrested for damage to property, obstruction for lying to police and theft of a prepaid $100 cellphone from Best Buy, 8755 N. Port Washington Road, at 3:15 p.m. Dec. 24. The girl was seen taking the phone into a bathroom. She exited the bathroom no longer holding the phone. The packaging was found in a toilet where she had attempted to flush it. She was stopped and continued to deny she had the phone but finally admitted taking it. It was found hidden under her belt buckle.
6A 4-foot deer decoration valued at $150 was taken from a yard in the 600 block of East Bradley Road sometime Dec. 27 to 31.
7A fiber optic tree and the head of a snowman decoration with a total value of $150 were reported taken from the 800 block of East Dean Road at 1:25 a.m. Dec. 28. Police were able to follow the thief's footprints for a number of blocks but then lost sight of them.
8A female, age and residence not listed, was arrested for drunken driving and warned for speeding 36 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 400 block of West Calumet Road at 2:45 a.m. Jan. 1. When asked to take field sobriety tests she told police her father said they didn't make any (expletive) difference. Her BAC was 0.12.
9A Milwaukee man, age not available, was mailed a citation Jan 4 for theft of two smartphones valued at $560 from Best Buy, 8755 N. Port Washington Road, about 2 p.m. Jan. 3. This man and another were seen taking the phones and fleeing in a minivan. The license was listed to a Milwaukee woman who said a relative had been driving her car. The citation was mailed to that relative's last known address.
10An electronic tablet valued at $600 was taken from a car in a rear lot in the 6000 block of North Port Washington Road sometime 9 to 9:30 a.m. Dec. 27. There was no sign of forced entry.
11Credit cards were found in the 4600 block of North Estabrook Parkway on Dec. 26 and 27. The owner was contacted and reported all the cards had been canceled after his wallet was stolen from an airplane at Mitchell International Airport.
12A 30-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of items valued at $268 and two outstanding warrants at Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 27. The woman entered a fitting room with a flat purse and full cart and left with a bulging purse and empty cart. As she fled the store, she pushed a person who was trying to stop her and fled in a car. When stopped, police recovered the stolen items including three shirts the woman was wearing. She had two outstanding warrants from West Allis Police Department for prostitution and carrying a concealed weapon.
13An electronic tablet valued at $600 was taken from a car in the 6000 block of North Port Washington Road between 9 and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 27.
14A 52-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, possession of marijuana, with a prior conviction, open intoxicants, failure to wear a seat belt and driving with a suspended license after speeding 40 mph in a 25 mph zone and then driving over a front yard and crashing into a wall in the 2200 block of West Rochelle Avenue at 7 p.m. Dec. 27. The driver had been followed by River Hills and Fox Point police but when the man sped away both departments stopped the chase and Glendale police followed the man without lights or sirens. The man admitted he had been drinking in a church while attending his son's funeral. Numerous empty beer cans were found in the car along with 0.6 grams of marijuana. Damage to the wall and yard was more than $2,000.
15A man and woman, both 18 of Milwaukee, were arrested for theft at Sunglass Hut, 490 W. Northshore Drive, at 3:45 p.m. Dec. 28. An employee said they seemed to be 'enthusiastic' to buy glasses and when she noticed some pairs missing from a display, she approached them but they fled the store. When arrested, the woman said she was 'a master thief,' boasting that she steals all the time and was upset that this time she 'slipped up.' She also wanted police to thank the stores at Bayshore for allowing her to steal so easily. She also said that stealing and selling what she stole was her only job. When told she was banned from the mall, she laughed and said she'd be back. The man, who was on probation and parole, was also banned and said he wouldn't return. Police called his parole officer and were told his probation would not be revoked for theft. The couple had three pairs of glasses valued at $489, two taken from Sunglass Hut and one from LensCrafters.
16A 32-year-old woman, residence not listed, was arrested for drunken driving, driving with a suspended license and warned for lane deviation and speeding 45 plus mph in a 30 mph zone in the 1700 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 2:30 a.m. Dec. 29. The woman admitted drinking and had a BAC of 0.08.
17A 23-year-old woman, residence not listed, was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property near the bowling lanes at IPIC at Bayshore Town Center, 5800 N. Bayshore Drive, at 12:20 a.m. Dec. 30. The woman made an obscene gesture at some women, threw bar glasses on the floor breaking them, kicked and broke a glass monitor and next picked up a bowling ball and acted as if she was going to throw that, too.
18A 19-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after yelling and screaming inside a store and then pushing a security guard at Victoria's Secret, 5701 N. Centerpark Way, at 4 p.m. Dec. 31. Before police arrived, she and three other females fled in a car but were stopped a few blocks away. Also arrested were a 23-year-old Milwaukee woman on outstanding warrants for theft and disorderly conduct/criminal damage to property and another 19-year-old Milwaukee woman for warrants for disorderly conduct, trespassing and traffic citations.
19A 52-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for driving after suspension, knowingly fleeing an officer and speeding 77 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 1300 block of West Good Hope Road before 7 p.m. Dec. 27. River Hills police called off the pursuit when he entered Glendale. Glendale police followed the man without lights or sirens. He finally was arrested after slamming into a stone wall in the 2200 block of West Rochelle Avenue, Glendale, just after 7 p.m.
20A 26-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for drunken driving and speeding 45 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 4000 block of North Oakland Avenue at 2 a.m. Dec. 27. He failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.21.
21A 2001 Chevy Silverado was taken from the 1800 block of East Capitol Drive about 9 p.m. Dec. 28. It was located in the 4200 block of North Wilson Drive the afternoon of Jan. 2.
A 58-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested early morning Dec. 29 on three counts of theft and arrests are pending on three counts of trespassing after he entered cars and took items in the 3900 and 4100 blocks of North Stowell Avenue on Dec. 28 or 29. Police were called to one home and were able to find the man by following his footprints in the snow. A cellphone, CDs, a jacket and first aid kit valued at $790 were taken from one car and a GPS unit valued at $150 from another. In addition cars were entered in the 4000 block of North Bartlett Avenue on Dec. 28 or 29 and the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue on Dec. 27 or 28.
22A 31-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for drunken driving in the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue at 2 a.m. Dec. 29. Police arrested the man after he called 911 reporting he hit a light pole either in Milwaukee or Shorewood. Police in both districts looked for the pole but couldn't locate it. The man failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.12.
23A 24-year-old Mequon man was arrested for drunken driving after he was seen weaving in traffic on Capitol and Wilson drives at 3:05 a.m. Jan. 1. His BAC was 0.24.
24A 34-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, driving after suspension, refusal to take a breath test and speeding 80 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 3500 block of North Oakland Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 2. The man stumbled out of his car and refused not only to take the breath test but refused to take field sobriety tests.
A 22-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for battery/domestic violence related after hitting a woman in the back with a plastic coat hanger at 4 p.m. Jan. 3. No injures were listed.
25A 2003 Ford Expedition, unlocked and with keys inside, was taken from the 4700 block of North Cumberland Boulevard overnight Dec 27 or 28. It was recovered in the 2700 block of North Farwell Avenue, Milwaukee, about 8 p.m. Jan. 3. A police report said 'most of the items in the car' were taken but no description or value of those items was available.
26About $45 cash was taken from a duffle bag left unsecured in the girls basketball locker room at Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 E. Fairmount Ave., early afternoon Dec. 26 and reported Dec. 28. In a related incident a person was mailed a citation for loitering/prowling at the time of the theft.
27An electronic tablet was found near Cahill Square, 1001 E. Fairmount Ave., about 7 p.m. Dec. 28. The tablet was turned in to the police.
A bag valued at $120 was taken from a car, location not available, Dec. 28 and reported Jan. 2.
About $10 was taken from a car, location not available, Dec. 29 or 30.
28A 27-year-old Fox Point man was arrested for drunken driving, failure to stop for a flashing red light, unsafe lane deviation and no proof of insurance in the 5600 block of North Lake Drive at 4:15 a.m. Jan. 1. He failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.17.
A resident reported that he had been mistakenly fined $150 for unpaid tolls on the Illinois Toll Way from Nov. 2011 to Jan. 2012. Someone had been using his license plate, which had been taken after an accident more than a year before, driving on the toll way. He has since canceled that plate.
29A 20-year-old West Allis man has felony drug charges pending after police and North Shore Fire were called to a possible drug overdose in the 800 block of East Glen Avenue about 5:30 p.m. Jan. 4. That person, a 19-year-old Whitefish Bay man, was taken to a hospital and then into protective custody. The West Allis man fled from the scene but was found a block away.
30A 40-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, hit and run and imprudent speed after damaging village property and a Milwaukee County bus in the 200 block of East Silver Spring Drive at 7 p.m. Jan. 4. The man fled the scene but was stopped by Glendale police.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to 123 calls, 91 emergency medical and 32 fire/rescue, Dec. 17 to 23; and to 128 calls, 101 emergency medical and 27 fire/rescue, Dec. 31 to Jan. 6. Firefighters responded to 137 calls, 108 emergency medical and 29 fire/rescue, Dec. 24 to Dec. 30.
31A water leak was reported in a building, a portion of which once housed a cleaners, in the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue at 9:20 p.m. Dec. 24. Firefighters saw the leak through exterior windows and when the owner could not be reached forced entry was made. The water had also leaked into an adjacent business. The amount of damage was not listed.
