A resident reported being the victim of a fraud after advertising and selling his $450 iPad using e-bay Dec. 7. He sent the iPad to a person in Towanda, Pa., after receiving confirmation from PayPal that the money had been credited to his account. He received more emails, again from what appeared to be PayPal, including a final one stating his account had been credited with $1,020 and he should return the overpayment via Western Union Dec. 10. He did not send that money.

1A 51-year-old Milwaukee man is a suspect in the theft of $199 from the cash register in the cosmetic department at Walgreens, 6020 W. Brown Deer Road, at 3:34 p.m. Dec. 15. The man was seen on surveillance video crawling behind the counter and using something to force open the register. The man is also a suspect in similar thefts reported in Milwaukee, Franklin, Wauwatosa and West Allis.

2A 33-year-old St. Louis woman was arrested for possession of drugs without a prescription, possession of a fraudulent ID, warrants and, along with a 48-year-old Milwaukee woman, for theft at Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 7 p.m. Dec. 27. The women entered the store with flat purses and left with purses filled with intimate apparel valued at $270.

3Two car tires were cut causing $250 damage in the 8300 block of North 46th Street sometime during the day and evening Jan. 1.

4A 21-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for a warrant and theft at Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, about 2:10 p.m. Jan. 3. The woman filled her purse with more than $200 of children's items and attempted to leave the store.

A 46-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related at 5:20 p.m. Jan. 6. The victim said her husband of 15 years had become angry and accused her of flirting during a phone call with a sales rep. He unplugged her two curling irons, threw numerous hair products into the sink, took her wedding ring and cellphone and then splashed her with water. The man admitted being angry but denied he had harmed his wife.

5A 22-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for battery/domestic violence related after choking a woman and later pulling her out of her car in a parking lot in the 4300 block of West Dean Road at 4:30 a.m. Jan. 6. Milwaukee police are also checking the incident since the man might have choked the woman while driving in Milwaukee. The man denied the allegations saying it was "not a big deal." The woman signed a 72-hour no contact order.

6A 19-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for underage drinking after she called police to report her ex-boyfriend took her cellphone in the 9000 block of North Green Bay Road at 10 p.m. Jan. 7. The woman had the odor of alcohol and admitted having a "couple of beers." Her preliminary blood alcohol content was 0.147. The ex-boyfriend was reached and denied taking the phone.


7A 19-year-old man, residence not released, was arrested for underage drinking in the 8700 block of North Port Washington Road at 6:15 a.m. Jan. 5. He approached an officer with his hands raised saying he somehow got separated from his friends. His preliminary BAC was 0.224. A relative picked him up.

8A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, third offense, driving with a revoked license, expired registration and making an illegal U-turn after making that turn and ending up in a ditch in the 6800 block of North Lake Drive at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 9. The man admitted having "four beers and a shot" three hours before. The man, who had urinated in his pants, had a BAC of 0.28 and was taken for a blood draw.


9Items valued at more than $400 including an digital media player and a GPS unit were taken from a car in the 5600 block of North Port Washington Road on Dec. 30 and reported Jan. 3.

10A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for theft and use of pepper spray while committing a crime at Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 11:45 a.m. Jan. 2. The boy fled the store with three pairs of Levis valued at $151 followed by an employee. The suspect turned and sprayed that employee who reported only minor injury. The boy was stopped about three blocks away admitting taking the jeans because he didn't have the best Christmas. He also said he found the spray on a bus and had only sprayed the employee because "the dude grabbed me."

11A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, driving after suspension with a prior conviction, suspended registration, refusal to take a breath test and speeding about 50 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 500 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 3.

12A car stolen from the 4700 block of North 88th Street, Milwaukee, on Dec. 11 was found abandoned at the Department of Corrections, 4160 N. Port Washington Road, at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 3. Numerous pairs of latex gloves were found in the car which had a punched out column and dead battery.

13A 27-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for attempt to obtain a fraudulent prescription of 120 oxycodone pills at Ye Olde Pharmacy, 5320 N. Port Washington Road, at 5 p.m. Jan. 3. The doctor. who was called and confirmed the prescription was fake, also said that prescription pads were easy to obtain through online retailers. The arrested man, who waited outside the store, said he paid $100 for the prescription for a friend and thought it was for Vicodin.

14A 18-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for being an escort without a license at the Radisson Hotel, 7065 N. Port Washington Road, at 1 a.m. Jan. 5. The woman had posted her services and a phone number on a website and an undercover officer called her. She told him to meet her in a room at the hotel. When arrested, she denied being a prostitute saying her services were "only for companionship."

15A man reported being the victim of an armed robbery at Bayshore Town Center Apartments, 5699 N. Centerpark Way, at 3:15 a.m. Jan. 5. He said someone he knew pointed a semiautomatic gun at him and took items valued at more than $1,800 including an electronic tablet, a laptop and smartphone.

16A 19-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for fraudulent use of a credit card left by a customer at Pet Supplies Plus, 5300 N. Port Washington Road, at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 5. The man, an employee, was caught on surveillance video using that card at McDonalds and Walgreens for a total of $35. At first he said he thought the card was a gift card but later admitted he knew it was wrong.

17A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, failure to stop for police, running a red light and speeding over 55 mph in a 35 mph zone in 6600 block of North Port Washington Road at 3:25 a.m. Jan. 6. His BAC was 0.12.

18A 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man, both of Milwaukee, were arrested for theft and the man also for possession of 0.7 grams of marijuana at Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 4:10 p.m. Jan. 6. They had taken jeans and shirts valued at $194 and fled the store.

19A 19-year-old man, residence not listed, was arrested for trespassing at Nicolet High School, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Road, at 12:10 p.m. Jan. 7. Witnesses reported a car speeding through a lot with this man hanging out the window flashing "gang signs." The man had been expelled from Nicolet in 2008 and was not to be on the property. A 20-year-old man, residence not listed, was cited for driving with a revoked license. He denied driving even though when police stopped the car he got out of the driver's seat.

20A prescription pad was taken from DaVitaBay Shore Dialysis Center, 5650 N. Green Bay Ave., Dec. 20 to Jan. 1 and reported Jan. 7. An employee came to the station after he was advised that people had used the forms to obtain fraudulent prescriptions in Milwaukee and New Berlin.

21A 17-year-old Glendale boy was arrested for disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of a weapon in the 5200 block of North Mohawk Avenue at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 8. A woman driving her car reported the boy, also driving, had leaned out his window and pointed a gun at her. Police went to the home and were told by the boy's grandmother he wasn't there. However, he could be seen peeking around a door. He told police he "has anxiety issues" and had a spring activated stress reliever that he squeezes to relieve tension and that is what the woman must have thought was a gun. The grandmother allowed police to search the home and they found a pellet gun, a sawed- off shotgun, two glass jars with 9.7 grams of marijuana, numerous rounds of ammunition including 9mm hollow point bullets and 31 rounds of .40 caliber bullets. Charges are pending.

22A purse and contents including $75 cash was taken when left unattended in a cart at Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., about 2:30 p.m. Jan. 4.

23A 37-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man both of Oshkosh were arrested for theft of four bottles of liquor from Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 5. The couple fled the store with the liquor, got into a car but were stopped. In the car's trunk, police recovered over 30 bottles of liquor valued at about $820 which had been taken, according to a report, from Pick 'n Save stores between Shorewood and Oshkosh.

24A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, possession of 1.5 grams of marijuana, possession of false IDs, failure to have insurance and speeding 62 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 1000 block of East Capitol Drive at 1:20 a.m. Jan. 5. The man was heading west when an officer heading east clocked his speed and stopped him. The man was found with two false Illinois driver's licenses he said he bought from a friend. His BAC was 0.15.

25An outside water faucet was turned on causing water to fill a yard and seep into the basement of a building in the 4400 block of North Frederick Avenue before 8 p.m. Jan. 6.

26A 38-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for driving with a suspended license, unauthorized registration and theft of a blue tarp left at a construction site in the 3600 block of North Murray Avenue about 11:30 a.m. Jan. 7.

27A gym bag filled with clothes, value not listed, was taken from a car in an alley behind the 3500 block of North Oakland Avenue overnight Jan. 7 or 8. The bag and contents were found discarded about a block away.

28A secured BMX bicycle valued at $150 was taken from a backyard in the 3800 block of North Oakland Avenue the afternoon of Jan. 8.

29Three basement storage lockers were broken into but only one resident reported items taken in an apartment building in the 1800 block of East Kenmore Place on Jan. 7 to 9. Items taken were luggage, a pillow, comforter and an air conditioner valued at more than $1,380.


30An 18-year-old woman, residence not listed, was arrested for violation of absolute sobriety and suspended registration in the 4800 block of North Elkhart Avenue at 2:25 a.m. Jan. 10. Two 18-year-old Whitefish Bay women and an 18-year-old Milwaukee woman, passengers, were arrested for underage drinking.

A woman turned in money she found in the 4900 block of North Newhall Street about 6:15 a.m. Jan. 11. She said if not claimed in the 180 days, she would like it donated to the police department. A man also turned in money he found on the hill at Klode Park, 5900 North Lake Drive, at 2:38 p.m. Jan. 11. If not claimed, he would like it returned to him.

31A package delivered by U.S. Postal Service with clothing valued at $125 was taken from the 4900 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard sometime before 9:30 p.m. Jan. 11.

32An 87-year-old Whitefish Bay woman was hit by a car driven by a 78-year-old Milwaukee woman in the lot at Sendik's, 500 E. Silver Spring Drive, at 3:14 p.m. Jan. 12. The victim was taken to a hospital and an accident report filed.

33A 43-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving, open intoxicants and refusal to take a breath test after a witness saw her hit a curb and drive erratically on Henry Clay Street and Santa Monica Boulevard at 6:20 p.m. Jan. 12.

34A 42-year-old Fox Point woman was arrested for failure to stop for an emergency vehicle, failure to dim headlights and speeding 43 mph in 30 mph zone in the 4800 block of North Lake Drive at 10 p.m. Jan. 12. The woman sped away from police but was finally stopped in Fox Point after police used stop sticks. A driver behavior report was filed.

A 40-year-old Whitefish Bay woman was arrested for battery/domestic violence related after she punched a man twice in the face about 6:30 p.m. Jan. 13. The man said the woman is his live-in girlfriend.

35A 22-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for drunken driving in the 5100 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 15. His BAC was 0.09.


Firefighters responded to 143 calls, 107 emergency medical and 36 fire/rescue, Jan. 7 to Jan. 13.
