Police Report: Feb. 4

1A fryer valued at more than $9,000 was reported taken from Sendik's, 340 W. Brown Deer Road, sometime before Jan. 8. The store has new owners and is being remodeled and on Jan. 7, an auction was held to sell no longer needed appliances. The fryer was not to be sold and was in the store marked "Do Not Sell." However, on Jan. 8, the fryer was gone. It weighs at least 300 pounds and at more than 4-feet tall.


2A 64-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft with the enhancer of habitual criminal because of 51 previous arrests and for obstruction for giving a false name at Old Navy, 9094 N. Green Bay Road, at 1 p.m. Jan. 13. He left the store with girls clothing valued at more than $260 and when stopped denied the theft even when told it was caught on surveillance video. He was with a 36-year-old Milwaukee man who was arrested for being party to the crime of theft.

3Two 20-year-old men of Brown Deer and Cedarburg and two 19-year-old women of Cedarburg and Saukville were cited for underage drinking after a noise complaint in the 9300 block of North 49th Street at 2:40 a.m. Jan. 15. One man was two days from his 21st birthday and the other man about two months away. They all smelled of alcohol and had blood alcohol contents ranging from 0.163 to 0.198.

4A 17-year-old Brown Deer boy was mailed citations for possession of marijuana on school property and three counts of theft at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., the afternoon of Jan. 14. At that time, two girls reported items missing from the locker room including a $200 pair of head phones and a $200 digital media player as they played basketball. Surveillance video revealed the boy entering the girls locker room about 3:30 p.m. on that date. When interviewed on Jan. 15, marijuana weighing 1.2 grams was found in his backpack but the boy denied ownership. When told he was seen on video entering the locker room he said he was trying to return a digital media player he found. That player was recovered at the home of the boy's cousin.

5Two lockers were entered and items taken at YMCA, 9250 N. Green Bay Road, between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Jan 16. Wallets were taken from each locker and one man also reported the theft of a cellphone and clothing valued at more than $200.

6A 28-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct at Brown Deer Lanes, 4715 W. Bradley Road, at 1:45 a.m. Jan. 18. The woman yelled profane and racial comments at three men and then ran behind the bar pretending she was an employee. She was also told she was banned from the business.

7A 37-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft, removal of anti-theft sensors and outstanding warrants at Old Navy, 9094 N. Green Bay Road, at 12:45 p.m. Jan. 22. The woman, who removed sensors on clothing valued at more than $100, had warrants for theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. She had been arrested for theft six times since 2008.

8A smartphone valued at $200 was taken from a desk at Shorehaven Behavioral Health, 3900 W. Brown Deer Road, before 1 p.m. Jan. 23.

A 21-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related at 7 p.m. Jan. 27. The victim said the man, her boyfriend, grabbed her and threw a shoe in her face. The man said they were just play wrestling and that they do that a lot. The woman signed a 72-hour no contact order.

A 20-year-old Brown Deer woman was arrested for battery and damage to property, both domestic violence related, at 7:25 p.m. Jan. 27. The woman became angry when asked to watch her nephew while her mother left for a short while. The two argued and when the mother told her to leave, the two women struggled and the daughter bit her mother's finger. She then knocked over a 40-inch TV and broke a large picture window causing $1,000 damage. She was found in a parking lot.


9A woman, age and residence not available, was arrested for drunken driving after she was seen weaving in traffic and driving 15 mph in a 35 mph zone in the 7600 block of North Port Washington Road at 1:15 a.m. Jan. 27. The woman, who admitted having three drinks at a Mequon bar, failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.11.

10A 37-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia after taking four bottles of vodka valued at more than $130 from CVS Pharmacy, 8661 N. Port Washington Road, at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 27. The man got in a car but was stopped a few blocks away. He had a knife with a 6-inch blade and a crack pipe hidden in his jacket.

11An attempted burglary was reported in the 6700 block of North Holly Court the morning of Jan. 30. A resident saw two males wearing hooded sweatshirts attempting to enter a residence and called police. They followed the men's footsteps onto the railroad bed near the 6800 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard to the Fox Point Shops. The footprints stopped there when the men got into a car and drove away. Along those tracks police recovered a cellphone and wallet with $445 cash and a Social Security card, credit cards and a driver's license. A male, age and residence not available, is a suspect in the burglary.


12A 17-year-old Milwaukee girl was arrested for being an escort without a license at the Baymont Inn, 5485 N. Port Washington Road, at 1 a.m. Jan. 23. The girl advertised on the Internet saying she was a 20 year old "perky young college student" offering her services for the "special price" of $70. She also said she "preferred older men because they were more mature." After being taken into custody, she told police she was just looking for company but then admitted being a prostitute for the past month because she needed money.

13A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested Jan 23 for a burglary at Walgreens, 5400 N. Port Washington Road, after an alarm call at 11:55 p.m. Jan. 22. The man was identified by surveillance video showing him entering the store about 7:30 p.m. and then behind the counter about 11:50 p.m. putting items into a bag. When arrested, he said he had become ill and threw up in the bathroom and then fell asleep. When he awoke, the store was closed and locked and in order to get out he cut sensor wires. He admitted taking some candy and three cartons of cigarettes which he sold to someone for $35. However, an inventory showed that 12 cartons of cigarettes valued at $786 were missing.

14A 19-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of $238 worth of clothing from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 5 p.m. Jan. 23. The woman was seen loading a cart, going into a fitting room and leaving the store. She was wearing many of the stolen items and said she took them because she was going to be homeless soon.

15A $200 GPS unit was taken from a car in the 300 block of West River Front Drive the morning of Jan. 24.

16Two Cedarburg men, 26 and 27, were suspects for fraud after selling stolen jewelry in three or four transactions over the two past months at Robert Haack Diamonds, 6969 N. Port Washington Road, on Jan. 25. The men, who received a total of $594 for the jewelry, signed a certification that they owned the jewelry and if not they would be prosecuted. Some of that jewelry was identified as stolen from homes in Cedarburg and the two men were arrested for burglary by Cedarburg police Jan. 25.

17A 34-year-old woman, residence not listed, was arrested for theft of jewelry and clothing valued at $225 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 5:35 p.m. Jan. 28. She was seen taking the items and leaving the store without paying. When arrested, she said the items were for herself and a friend.

18Police were called when employees saw a man who had scammed them two years ago at Concours Motors, 1400 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 1 p.m. Jan. 29. Back then, that man had approached them saying he worked at Miller Brewery and could sell them beer for less. They gave him money, the amount not listed, and he left and never returned until this day. The man was gone when police arrived.

19A white gold wedding ring with diamonds valued at $3,499 was taken from the 6400 block of North Willow Glen Lane sometime from October to Jan. 13 and reported Jan. 29. The resident said she had many guests during that time, some she didn't know.

20A 37-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, trespassing, carrying a concealed weapon and theft at Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 11 p.m. Jan. 30. The man had taken baby formula valued at $100 and fought with security as he tried to flee. He had a glass pipe with cocaine residue and a knife hidden in his jacket that he said he carried for protection. He admitted being addicted to crack cocaine and alcohol and intended to sell the formula to buy the drug. He also said he wanted help to fight his addictions.

21Cash and 30 cartons of cigarettes totaling over $2,000 were taken from Citgo, 1602 E. Capitol Drive, between 9 p.m. Jan. 24 and 7 a.m. Jan. 25. The burglars forced a window open to gain entry causing $450 damage. They took the entire cash drawer along with rolled coins and the cigarettes.

22A wallet was taken from a purse at the Three Lions Pub, 4515 N. Oakland Ave., between 10 and 11 p.m. Jan. 24 and reported Jan. 30. The victim reported that at least one of her credit/debit cards had been used at a bar, to buy gas and pay cab fare totaling about $80.

23A woman reported that her $500 smartphone was either taken or lost at the Three Lions Pub, 4515 N. Oakland Ave., between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25. When she checked she discovered that someone had texted and called using her phone.

24A 25-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after being stopped for speeding 50 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 1100 block of East Capitol Drive at 4:25 a.m. Jan. 27. The man, who smelled of alcohol and admitted drinking, had a preliminary BAC of 0.16 and was taken for a blood draw.

25A 32-year-old Shorewood woman was arrested for drunken driving after hitting a parked car in the 4000 block of North Newhall Street at 6:35 p.m. Jan. 28. Her BAC was 0.17.

26A UW-Milwaukee student reported being the victim of an armed robbery as he walked in the 3500 block of North Maryland Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Jan. 29. He said two males wearing black ski masks, one holding a gun, took his smartphone, head set, wallet and back pack valued at more than $600 and fled.

27A leather briefcase valued at $100 was taken from a car parked in the 1300 block of East Capitol Drive between 8 and 9 p.m. Jan. 30. A window was broken to gain entry causing $200 damage.

A 59-year-old Shorewood man reported being the victim of a fraud Jan. 30. He got a call saying he won the Publisher's Clearing House contest and to claim the winnings he had to send money using MoneyPak at Walmart which he did Dec. 12 or 13. He received more calls asking for more money but didn't send any more until about Dec. 31 when he was called again and told "they" were having difficulty sending the money "across state borders." He was told then to hide cash in the pages of a magazine and send it via Fed Ex to an address not listed. The man lost more than $9,000 in this scam.

One domestic violence incident was reported this week.


28A 28-year-old Saukville woman was arrested for drunken driving and crossing a divided highway after driving over the median in the 1600 block of East Hampton Road at 3:15 a.m. Jan. 29. Her BAC was 0.20.

A resident reported a theft of his handgun at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 30. No other details were available.

A 49-year-old Whitefish Bay woman was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related after her husband called police to reported that she was "continually hitting him without permission" at 10 p.m. Feb. 1. She was taken to Milwaukee County Jail.

29A 43-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving and driving without headlights in the 300 block of East Hampton Road at 11:50 p.m. Feb. 2. She was taken for a blood draw.

30A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, violation of parole, defective taillight and failure to have insurance, wear a seat belt, report change of address and stop at a sign in the 4400 block of North Lake Drive at 3 a.m. Feb. 3. His BAC was 0.14.


Firefighters responded to 124 calls, 86 emergency medical and 38 fire/rescue, Jan. 28 to Feb. 3.
