Bayshore Town Center adds new tenants

Glendale - Stephanie Horne/Urban Accents is now open in the Bayshore Town Center.

Both Stephanie Horne and Urban Accents originated in Milwaukee's Third Ward. Urban Accents has completely relocated, and Bayshore has become a second location for Stephanie Horne.

Stephanie Horne offers contemporary women's clothing; Urban Accents carries handcrafted jewelry, art and contemporary home accents.

Medical College calls for disadvantaged students

The Medical College of Wisconsin recently received a five-year, $1.1 million grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute for a program that aims to increase the number of minorities and disadvantaged individuals who pursue medical biomedical careers.

The program will recruit college undergraduates and first-year medical students from populations that are under-represented nationally in health-related sciences. The program includes a 10-week period of hands-on laboratory experience at the Medical College.

Dr. Kenneth Simons of Mequon, senior associate dean of academic affairs and professor of ophthalmology and pathology, and Jeannette Vasquez-Vivar of Wauwatosa, associate professor of biophysics, are co-principal investigators for the grant.

On the move

Sarah Nohr of West Allis has joined PKA Marketing, 11053 N. Towne Square Road, Mequon, as an account manager and social media specialist. .

Daniel J. Blankenship has been named the first provost of Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 N. Yates Road. He also will serve as the university's executive vice president and chief academic officer. Blankenship currently is the campus dean and chief executive officer at the University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac.

Paul E. Hankwitz of Shorewood has been appointed associate professor of medicine in the division of geriatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is board-certified in internal medicine. His clinical interests include development of the senior health program at Community Memorial Medical Commons in Menomonee Falls.

William Reuteman has been appointed bank manager at Harris Bank's Cedarburg location. He has more than 23 years of banking experience, recently serving as bank manager of Harris Bank's Mequon office.
