Police Report: June 4

1Nine rings valued at $2,150 were taken from the 8100 block of North 38th Street sometime over the past two months and reported May 18.

2Two Brown Deer girls, 14 and 15, were arrested for disorderly conduct after fighting in the girls locker room at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., on May 22. The younger girl said the older girl had a list naming girls to fight and some of her friends were on that list. The older girl said she did have a list but it was for things she wanted to do in summer. When police asked her what was on the list, she couldn't recall.

3A mailbox, garbage cart and water pipe were run over by a hit-and-run driver, causing $400 in damage, in the 8600 block of North 68th Street at 8 p.m. May 25.

4Similar graffiti was found at five locations on May 26, causing more than $2,000 damage. The sites include playground equipment at Algonquin Park, 7850 N. 51st St., Brown Deer Lanes and Salvation Army, both in the 4700 block of West Bradley Road, and Dean Elementary, 8200 N. 60th St.

5An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 4000 block of West Hawthorne Trace Road at 10 p.m. May 26. He admitted to smoking the drug outside his mother's residence and hiding some more inside. She told police to get "that stuff out of my house."

6Four lockers in the men's locker room were broken into and items taken at the YMCA, 9250 N. Green Bay Road, about 8 a.m. May 27. One man's cell phone and wallet valued at more than $70 were taken.

7A 36-year-old Fox Point man was arrested for drunken driving after he was stopped for speeding 37 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 7800 block of North Regent Road about 1 a.m. May 24. His blood-alcohol content was 0.17.


8A trampoline was spray painted with orange paint and the safety screen was cut, causing $360 damage, in the 700 block of West Rock Place on May 22.

9Three Milwaukee boys, 11, 12 and 13, were arrested for theft of a bike in the 900 block of Eula Court at 7 p.m. May 22. A witness saw the theft, called police and followed the boys to the Lincoln Park Pool Pavilion.

10A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana after a report of two men smoking the drug in a blue van in the 5200 block of North Port Washington Road at 7:30 p.m. May 22. A blunt was found in the car along with 0.3 grams of marijuana. A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested on a warrant.

11A woman was the victim of a strong-armed robbery as she tried to make a business deposit at US Bank, 5888 N. Port Washington Road, at 11 p.m. May 23. Video surveillance shows a white male wearing a hooded sweatshirt hit the woman and knock her down before taking her purse, which had a deposit of more than $1,000 in cash and checks.

12A 25-year-old Glendale man was arrested for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon in the 2300 block of West Marne Avenue about 1:30 a.m. May 25. Police were called by a cab driver who said the man pointed a gun at his head and drove off in a car. A friend of the suspect said it was a BB gun. The man came back to the residence in another cab and had one round of ammunition in his pocket. The gun and seven bullets were located in the man's car in the 1900 block of East North Avenue.

13A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for possession of marijuana and theft along with a 29-year-old Milwaukee woman after they took more than $200 worth of items from Sears, 5900 N. Port Washington Road at 4:30 p.m. May 25. The drug was found in the woman's wallet but she said she had no idea how it got there.

14Two lawn mowers, each valued at $150, were taken from garages in the 5600 and 5700 blocks of North Braeburn Lane on May 25 and May 28.

15A laptop computer valued at $3,000 was taken from a car in the 3000 block of West Rochelle Avenue on May 27.

16A 53-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft of Cialis valued at $290 from an office in the 500 block of West Silver Spring Drive about 4 p.m. May 28. The man said he stole the medicine because of the cost and said he wanted to have "a romantic weekend."

17A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was a suspect for fraud after opening a new account and depositing checks, which turned out to be worthless, at US Bank on May 28. He then made withdrawals at ATM machines, including one of more than $2,000 at Potawatomi Casino.

18A 22-year-old West Allis man was arrested for his third drunken-driving offense and open intoxicants in the 1700 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 2:30 a.m. May 29. He was taken for a blood draw.


19More than $200 in merchandise was taken or damaged from the Shorewood Little League concession stand at Spector Field, 1600 E. River Park Court, between May 21 and May 26.

20A resident doing yard work in the 4100 block of North Ardmore Avenue was approached by a woman who asked for money because her son was in the hospital and she needed money to pay for a prescription for "his asthma" at 9 p.m. May 25. The resident, who said she was "overwhelmed with compassion," gave the woman $20 and a hug. A bit later she called police. The woman was about 30 years old, black, about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a heavy build, and had black hair with red extensions.

21An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from a man's wallet after a woman came to his home asking for money to pay for a prescription for her sick son in the 1700 block of East Newton Avenue at 8:30 a.m. May 26. The man left the woman alone in the living room when he went to write a check for her made out to Walgreens for $25.06. He discovered the theft a short time later after she left.

22A resident reported 23 fraudulent withdrawals from savings and checking accounts using an ATM at North Shore Bank, 3970 N. Oakland Ave., on May 27.


23A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for his third drunken-driving offense and an outstanding warrant in the 5900 block of North Lake Drive at 3 a.m. May 24. A blood draw was ordered.

24A car's back window was broken, causing $350 damage, in the 100 block of East Fairmount Avenue on May 26 or May 27.

25Four Whitefish Bay High School students, ages 15 to 17, were suspended from school after a report of them smoking marijuana at an off-campus residence over the lunch hour May 28. Whitefish Bay police were notified, and a follow up is possible. No drugs were found at the school, 1200 E. Fairmount Ave.

26A lawn mower valued at $100 was taken from a garage in the 5200 block of North Kent Avenue between 1 and 5 p.m. May 28.


• Firefighters responded to 117 calls, 82 emergency medical and 35 fire/rescue, between May 25 and 31.
