Eastern Shore Products taps PKA Marketing

PKA Marketing, 11053 N. Towne Square Road, Mequon, has been named marketing agency of record for Eastern Shore Forest Products of Salisbury, Md.

PKA will handle the launch of a new concept in consumer gardening products under the Expert Garden Systems brand. The agency will produce all marketing communications, including logo design, Web/interactive development, print advertising, sales literature, home and garden show displays, and public relations.

North Shore contestants named business plan finalists

Ophir Ben-Yitschak of Scopia, Bayside, and Greg Gulick of Medtric, Whitefish Bay, have been named finalists in the sixth annual Wisconsin Governor's Business Plan Contest.

Twenty-one entries from communities across the state are competing in the final round of judging.

The contestants have survived two rounds of judging in the contest.

About $150,000 in cash and in-kind prizes have been pledged for the 2009 contest; first prize is $50,000 in cash and services. Winners will be announced in June at the seventh annual Wisconsin Entrepreneurs' Conference in Milwaukee.

Bay doctor named Champion in Women's Health

Dr. Anne Hoch of Whitefish Bay has been named a 2009 Champion in Women's Health award-winner by the Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation.

The award honors individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and devoted themselves to improving the quality of life for women and families. Winners are nominated by their peers.

Hoch won the award for her work regarding osteoporosis. She is director of Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Women's Sports Medicine Program and an associate professor of orthopedic surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Stritch MBA program receives top ranking

Cardinal Stritch University was listed first among the 15 largest Milwaukee area graduate business programs by the Milwaukee Business Journal.

The university has been offering a masters in business administration degree since 1986 and enrolls 831 students. The Business Journal survey indicated Stritch has the third lowest tuition with a student-to-instructor ratio of 11-to-1.

Stritch also began offering an online MBA program in February 2009.

Glendale firm wins national NARI award

B&E General Contractors in Glendale won a national award at the recent National Association of the Remodeling Industry's Evening of Excellence in Atlanta, Ga.

The firm was the winner in the residential addition $100,000 to $250,000 category. Judging was based on problem-solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.

Lighting firm recognized for LED product

SPI Lighting, 10400 N. Enterprise Dr., Mequon, has announced that its STILE Beam LED product was accepted into the 2008 Illuminating Engineering Society of North America's Progress Report and recognized as a "significant development and improvement to the industry."
