Outgoing trustee recognized for service

March 25, 2009

The River Hills Village Board on March 18 honored outgoing trustee Mary Ellen "Candy" Pindyck for her 15 years as an elected official.

Pindyck, who has served five terms on the board, chose not to seek re-election this spring. Last week's meeting was her final one as a trustee.

"This board has often surprised me in how collaborative it has been in the preservation of this unique village," said Pindyck.

Village President Robert Brunner praised Pindyck.

"Your legal background and broad experience has been a real asset to this board. Thanks for a job well done," Brunner said to Pindyck.

Pindyck also served on the village Plan Commission and Board of Appeals.

Trustee Randall Perry's seat also is up for election. He is seeking re-election and is facing off against newcomers Cordelia Gelly, Victor Harding and Michael White. The top two vote-getters will fill the two seats.
