1A 62-year-old Bayside woman was arrested for drunken driving after she drove into a ditch at Fairy Chasm and Iroquois roads at 8:30 p.m. March 8. She told one officer she ran off the road to avoid an oncoming car crossing into her lane and told another it was to avoid a jogger. When asked if she'd been drinking, she at first said no and then "one cocktail." She failed field sobriety tests including reciting the alphabet from C to R saying "C, D, F, I T, H, I" and finishing with "W, X, R 'ya know' Y, Z." Her blood alcohol content was 0.09.
2Two storage lockers were broken into in the 5000 block of West Bradley Road sometime Feb. 18. Taken were items valued at about $100 including toilet paper, towels and other household items.
3A 45-year-old Brown Deer man was mailed a citation on a noise complaint after neighbors reported his three pit bulls "habitually barked" while outside in the 4800 block of West Terry Avenue at 10 a.m. Feb. 22. Police knocked on the door and when no one answered, called and spoke to a woman telling her about the complaint. She said, "People should mind their own business. They're just dogs."
4A burglary was reported in the 8700 block of North 60th Street between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Feb. 22. The resident came home and found a broken window, clothes scattered about and dresser drawers opened but only about $20 in coins taken. He also saw that pizza had been taken from the refrigerator and thought it had been given to his dog to distract it. Police followed foot steps in the snow until they ended.
5A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for theft of a $500 leather jacket belonging to an employee at HH Gregg, 9140 N. Green Bay Road, about 1 p.m. Feb. 24. The man was caught on video taking the jacket and leaving the store with another man, his father, who had made a purchase. The suspect was traced through that purchase and after being called returned to the store with the jacket telling police he had been "stupid" to take it.
6A wallet was taken from a purse left unattended in a cart at TJ Maxx, 9020 N. Green Bay Road, about noon Feb. 25. The victim was distracted by a woman who started asking her fashion questions. She discovered her wallet was taken Feb. 26 and that her credits cards were used to make purchases totaling more than $6,000 at the Bayshore Apple Store and Best Buy in Fox Point.
7An 18-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for a warrant and theft of a woman's cellphone valued at $130 while at the Brown Deer Library, 5600 W. Bradley Road, at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 26. The victim had just met the teen a few blocks away and they walked to the library. She asked the teen to help her since she'd never been to a library before. She went to the desk leaving behind her phone. When she returned the phone was gone and as she called her number, the teen fled the library. She was stopped in the area after throwing the phone into a snow bank. The phone was not damaged.
8A 17-year-old Brown Deer girl is a suspect in the possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a canine check of lockers and the parking lot at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., at 9:45 a.m. Feb. 28. Canine officer Vader "hit" on the truck the girl drove to school. Marijuana, unknown weight, a pipe and grinder were found in the vehicle.
Two domestic violence incidents were reported this week.
9Residents reported their home had been "egged" in the 200 block of West Nokomis Court about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 22 and reported at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 23. Three males walked up to within 30 feet of the home and started throwing eggs. Two left but the third continued until he ran out of eggs and then fled the scene. The incident was caught on surveillance video and is under investigation. There was no report of damage.
10A 19-year-old Madison woman was arrested for theft, resisting, for fleeing police, and obstruction for lying at Best Buy, 8755 N. Port Washington Road, at 4:45 p.m. Feb. 27. Police were called to a theft in progress and saw the suspect and two other women walking away from the store. When told to stop, the two women did, but the suspect ran off chased by an officer. The two denied any knowledge of the theft and were released. The suspect was stopped with a microphone and a recorder interface, valued at about $300, taken from the store. At that time, she told police she was only 14. When they questioned that, she said she was really 16. She then gave her sister's name and later her real name and birth date. She lied, she said, because she didn't want to go to jail. She also said she took the equipment because she was "a rapper."
11A 16-year-old Whitefish Bay boy was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of Schedule I and II narcotics and drug paraphernalia and two other Whitefish Bay boys, 16 and 17, were taken into custody at Kaul-Mart, 209 W. Silver Spring Drive, about 9:45 p.m. Feb. 23. A parent, concerned his son was doing drugs, followed the boy's car to the station. He then noticed a strong odor of marijuana in the car and on the boys and waved over a Whitefish Bay officer who happened to be there. Glendale police were then notified. The arrested boy admitted all the drugs and paraphernalia in the car belonged to him saying he gave one of his friends $300 to buy marijuana which that boy did near Humboldt Avenue and Capitol Drive. All admitted smoking the drug with two girls they would not identify and two admitted snorting some of the pills. Police found 21 grams of marijuana, a pipe, electronic scale, lighter, rolling papers, eye drops, dryer sheets, a marijuana vaporizer and more than two dozen pills including clonazepam and amphetamines all prescribed to the boy or two relatives. The two friends were not arrested and turned over to parents.
12A 41-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested Feb. 24 for forgery and theft of three checks taken from the car of a male friend, 89, in the 2400 block of West Silver Spring Drive on Feb. 11. She made the checks out to her father totaling $395 and forged the victim's signature. She admitted taking the checks and also admitted having an "affair" with the victim. The woman had a restraining order issued against her to stay away from the man Sept, 18, 2012.
13A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana, receiving stolen property, obstruction and outstanding warrants after an employee saw him smoking marijuana in a fourth floor lobby at Bayshore Town Center, 5800 N. Bayshore Drive, at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 27. The man told the guard he was just "chillin' in the lobby" and there was nothing wrong with it. He then left, got on a bus which police stopped in Whitefish Bay. The man struggled with officers and had to be electronically stunned.
14A purse and contents including more than $3,000 cash was taken when left unattended in a booth at Panera Bread, 5575 N. Port Washington Road, between 2:20 and 2:50 p.m. Feb. 28. The victim said there were credit cards in the purse but none of them were valid. When asked why she had so much cash, she said she just cashed a check she got from the state for unclaimed funds.
15Items valued at $3,090 including a laptop, electronic reader, text books, head phones and a digital media player were taken from a car at the Bavarian Inn, 700 W. Lexington Ave., between 2 and 3:30 p.m. March 1. The owner said she was at soccer practice inside the facility. There was damage to a window and door.
A 47-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man, both of Glendale, were arrested for battery/domestic violence related after the woman called police reporting her husband had chocked her and hurt her wrists at 4:50 p.m. March 2. The couple rent an upper flat and when police arrived the man was in the lower unit with the owner. He said his wife attacked him and that's why he grabbed her wrists. Both had been drinking and appeared intoxicated. They were ordered to see the District Attorney March 5 and at that time a no process was issued.
16A 27-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, driving with a suspended license, with 14 prior convictions, no proof of insurance and speeding 70 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 2600 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 2:20 a.m. March 3. When stopped he opened the door and urinated into a soda bottle also soiling his jeans. He admitted drinking two or three "tall boy beers" and told police he thought he was going the speed limit. His BAC was 0.16.
17A purse and contents valued at $200 was taken from a desk in an office at Golden LivingCenter, 1616 W. Bender Road, about 3 p.m. March 3. The owner had left her office unlocked for just a few minutes.
18More than $1,100 damage was reported to a car at Bayshore Dialysis, 5650 N. Green Bay Ave., during the day March 4. All windows, except the rear, were smashed and a tire slashed.
19More than $2,500 was taken from a locked safe in a locked Chevy work van at Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, between noon and 2 p.m. March 5. A window was broken to gain entry and the safe had been forced open.
20A wallet and contents including credit cards was taken from a locked locker at LA Fitness, 501 W. Northshore Drive, before 3:30 p.m. March 5. At least one of the cards was used to charge a total of $250 between 3 and 4 p.m. at Sport's Authority, Jimmy Johns and Pick 'n Save. The suspect, a white male about 50, was caught on surveillance video.
21An employee reported leaving his smart phone valued at $700 unattended at the Cheesecake Factory, 5799 N. Bayshore Drive, about 9 p.m. March 6. When he discovered it was missing, he went to the nearby Apple Store and they used the GPS system to trace it to the 5500 block of North Mohawk Avenue. Police questioned people in that block but the phone was not located.
22A 43-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, after being stopped for weaving in traffic from the 2100 to 2800 block of West Brown Deer Road at 12:10 a.m. March 4. After failing field sobriety tests, he said, "You got me. You got me." His BAC was 0.16 and he was taken for a blood draw.
23A 43-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct at TCF Bank, 4201 N. Oakland Ave., at 4:30 p.m. March 1. The man got angry, yelling at employees and customers using profane language, when he was told the bank could not cash his $10 check because he didn't have proper ID. He also made obscene gestures at employees and the security camera.
24A 42-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for drunken driving and unsafe lane deviation in the 1500 block of East Capitol Drive at 12:15 a.m. March 2. His BAC was 0.15.
25A 2002 Chrysler Sebring convertible valued at $6,000 was taken from the 2400 block of East Jarvis Avenue before 3 p.m. March 2. It was later recovered in the 600 block of North 20th Street with the ignition switch damaged.
26A 29-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for disorderly conduct after a report of people fighting outside a duplex in the 3900 block of North Maryland Avenue at 3 a.m. March 3.
27A 40-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for attempting/obtaining a controlled substance by fraud after asking to have a prescription filled for 120 pills of 30 mg oxycodone at Family Pharmacy, 3512 N. Oakland Ave., at 5 p.m. March 4. The pharmacist realized the prescription, supposedly from a doctor at Columbia St Mary's Hospital, was fraudulent and called police.
28A 34-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for trespassing and damage to property at an apartment building in the 1600 block of East River Park Court at 10:30 p.m. March 5. The man rang numerous door bells until he was buzzed in. He then went to a relative's apartment, kicked the door yelling insults including calling the woman "an old fat (expletive)" and a "stinking cow."
29A GPS unit valued at $250 was taken from a car in the 1900 block of East Elmdale Court on March 5 or 6. No damage was reported.
30A credit card was taken from a lunch box at a construction site in the 4000 block of North Oakland Avenue sometime March 4. On March 6, the victim discovered his card taken and when he called to cancel it was told it had been used numerous times at various locations.
31A 53-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for habitual intoxication/unable to care for himself in the 1300 block of East Capitol Drive at 3:45 p.m. March 6. He was taken to Milwaukee County Detox Center.
32A hit and run was reported in the 5000 block of North Kimbark Place during the day March 3. The driver's side of the car was damaged, the cost not yet available.
33A hit and run was reported in the 5200 block of North Lydell Avenue between 8:50 and 9:35 a.m. March 4. No other information was available.
A resident said she was the victim of a fraud after attempting to sell a freezer and a television with a total value of $674 on Craigslist in February and reported March 4. She spoke with a man Feb. 15 who said he wanted to buy the items and on Feb. 28, she received a check for $2,950 and was told to send $2,049 via Western Union to the mover from Hazelton, Iowa, which she did March 1. On March 4, she was told the check was written on a closed account and worthless and her account was debited that amount. She called phone numbers given to her by the buyer but no one answered.
34A 16-year-old boy and a 18-year-old man, both of Whitefish Bay, were mailed citations for disorderly conduct after fighting during a Stage Craft class at Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 E. Fairmount Ave., at 2 p.m. March 6. The boy had finished his project made of wood but it was not yet graded when the man took it and broke it down because he needed more wood for his project. The boy approached the man, brushing the man's face with a piece of wood, kicked him and told him he must rebuild the boy's project. The man then knocked the boy to the ground and punched him in the face causing a cut to the lip. Beside the citations the males must face "school consequences." No medical assistance was requested.
A resident reported an ID theft after her Social Security number was used fraudulently sometime before March 8.
