Nicolet sets 2011-12 school calendar

Glendale - The school bell will ring Sept. 1 for the first time in the 2011-12 year for Nicolet High School students, and classes are set to wrap June 7 after a four-day stretch of final exams. Graduation has been slated for June 10.

Winter break has been scheduled from Dec. 26 to 30 and spring break from April 6-13.

Parent-teacher conferences have been scheduled from 3:30 to 7:15 p.m. Oct. 20, 7:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 21, 3:30 to 7:15 p.m. March 8 and 7:30 to 11 a.m. March 9.

Nicolet's calendar was approved last week by the School Board.

Nicolet lunch prices will remain flat in 2011-12

Glendale - Daily breakfast and lunch prices at Nicolet High School will remain flat in 2011-12, following action last week by the School Board.

Student breakfasts are $1.75 at full price and 30 cents at the reduced price. Adult breakfasts are $2.50. Milk is 45 cents.

Lunch prices are as follows: $3 at full-price for students, 40 cents at a reduced price for students and $5 for adults.

Brown Deer renews district's food service contract

Brown Deer - The School Board last week approved the district food service contract with Taher Food Service that has no spending increase. The old contract had a three-year term, and the board passed a new contract that is one year in length. The annual cost of the contract is $28,387.

Elementary enrollment expected to decrease

Brown Deer - The Brown Deer School Board last week discussed staff reductions that will likely take place if the enrollment projections are accurate . The elementary enrollment especially is expected to decrease, which would cause .
