A woman reported being the victim of a hit and run after another car pulled in front of her causing her to swerve to avoid an accident and hitting the curb causing damage to her car in the 4300 block of West Bradley Road at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 20. The woman said, a passenger in the other car saw the accident but the driver did not stop. She had damage to her bumper and a tire of $1,000.

A 32-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving and damage to a traffic signal and a 29-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, in the 6400 block of West Brown Deer Road at 3:30 a.m. Feb. 22. The woman was following the man to his house when she hit the traffic light partially blocking traffic. A witness saw her get out of her car and into the car driven by the man who drove away. When police arrived to check the accident scene and abandoned car, the couple returned. They both admitted drinking and both were arrested. Her blood alcohol content was 0.13 and his was 0.17.


A 2005 Mitsubishi valued at $25,000 was taken from an unsecured garage in the 7000 block of North Belmont Lane sometime over the last few weeks and reported Feb. 19. The keys were left in the car.


A laptop and some personal papers valued at $1,500 were taken from a car parked at the Radisson Hotel, 7065 N. Port Washington Road, between 10 and 11:30 p.m. Feb. 18. A window and door frame were damaged.

A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery to her ex-boyfriend at Bayshore Town Center, 5800 N. Bayshore Drive, at 12 a.m. Feb. 19. The victim said his ex-girlfriend became angry and punched him in the face because he was with another woman. The suspect said the man was wrong. They had not broken up and she never punched him although she might have "flicked" him with her hand.

A 33-year-old Glendale man was arrested for drunken driving after being stopped for driving without lights in the 700 block of West Hampton Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Feb. 19. The man, who admitted drinking a pitcher of beer, had a BAC of 0.15.

A 45-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft of clothing and cologne valued at $530 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 19. The man wore four pairs of long underwear and under that, he wore the stolen clothes. He admitted to taking the cologne from Kohl's but not the clothes and the police couldn't prove it. The man had a long criminal history including more than 70 contacts and arrests many of them for theft.

A 55-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for drunken driving, with three prior convictions, driving after revocation, and lane deviation in the 600 block of West Bender Road at 2 a.m. Feb. 21. He failed field sobriety tests. His BAC was 0.21.

A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, and speeding 57 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 3000 block of West Good Hope Road at 9 p.m. Feb. 22. The woman denied drinking Her BAC was 0.14.

A 39-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of five pairs of men's jeans valued at $250 from Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 10:15 a.m. Feb. 23. The woman was seen on video putting the jeans into plastic bags and attempting to leave the store. The officer recognized the woman because she had also been arrested for theft of items valued at $400 from Kohl's on Feb. 16. She was told she was banned "for life" from Bayshore.

Two 15-year-old Milwaukee girls were arrested for obstruction and theft of items valued at more than $300 from Journey's, 5768 N. Bayshore Drive, at 1 p.m. Feb. 23. One girl, who wore black tights, had a lump at the waistband of those tights. The lump was a six pack of socks which she said the other girl took and gave to her. A clerk had seen the other girl put another pack of socks in her purse and asked if she was going to buy them. The girl said, "I'm thinking about it." But then the two girls, who both carried pink purses which held items taken from this store and others, walked out. When arrested, they gave false names, false phone numbers and false names of their mothers.

Two catalytic converters valued at $500 each were taken from two cars in an underground parking garage in the 800 block of East Kensington Boulevard on Feb. 15 to 19.

Six rings valued at $4,000 were reported taken from a home for sale in the 4100 block of North Lake Drive Feb. 17 to 23. There had been a Realtor walk-through and also the home had been shown to possible buyers.

A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant after causing a disturbance while being fired from her job as a crossing guard at Capitol Drive and Maryland Avenue at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 18.

A 42-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia after police saw her slumped over in a car and stopped to check her welfare in the 3500 block of Oakland Avenue at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 18. The woman, who said she was on her way to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, was found with four packets of crack cocaine and a glass pipe

A 22-year-old Muskego man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation after a report of a possible heroin overdose in the 4300 block of North Wildwood Avenue at 9:15 p.m. Feb. 19.

A 39-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for fraud after he presented a forged prescription for 180 30 mg oxycodone pills at Thompson's Serv-U Pharmacy, 1421 E. Capitol Drive, at 3 p.m. Feb. 21. The man denied the prescription was fraudulent.

A student reported a $500 smart phone had been taken or lost at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, at noon Feb. 22. Through GPS tracking the phone seemed to be somewhere near the 4100 block of North Newhall Avenue. It has not yet been located.


An 18-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested on three counts of theft at Dominican High School, 120 E. Silver Spring Drive, about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 12. The woman took about $80 cash from three female students who had left their wallets and purses unattended in the sophomore dressing room while they were at music practice.

The Dean of Students at Dominican High School reported that "14 unknown actors" entered the school about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 21 and left about 2 a.m. Feb. 22. Two of them discharged a fire extinguisher in a hallway and stairwell causing $250 damage. Replacement of the extinguisher was $100. Information on how the event was known was not available.

Two 15-year-old Milwaukee boys were arrested for battery and attempted strong-armed robbery in the 5300 block of North Idlewild Avenue at 2:20 p.m. Feb. 24. The boys attacked a 17-year-old Whitefish Bay boy in the 5100 block of North Marlborough Drive, adjacent to the high school. They punched him causing cuts to his face and when he fell down, one of the boys kicked him. They asked for money and his cell phone but fled when he pushed them away.

An attempted burglary was reported in the 4600 block of North Ardmore Avenue Feb. 25 or 26. Pry marks were found on a patio door.


• Firefighters responded to 100 calls, 79 emergency medical and 21 fire/rescue, Feb. 21 to Feb. 27.

Firefighters were called by Glendale police who'd been called by a neighbor requesting aid in removing two women trapped on a balcony after locking themselves out of an apartment in the 500 block of West Bender Road at 4 a.m. Feb. 21. Entry to the apartment was not possible without property damage so a ladder was used. The women said they'd been outside for at least two hours but no injuries were reported.
