1A purse and contents including $250 cash were taken from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 900 block of East Wahner Place between 7 and 11:30 p.m. Dec. 26.


2The lock mechanism of an ATM was tampered with at the Credit Union Service Center, 6402 W. Brown Deer Road, between Dec. 8 to 13 and reported Dec. 15. Damage was $100.

3Two Brown Deer girls, 13 and 15, were arrested for disorderly conduct after fighting on the playground at Brown Deer Middle School, 5757 W. Dean Road, at 8:20 a.m. Dec. 15. A crowd of students surrounded the two girls and when a staff member tried to stop the fight, she was knocked down twice but not injured. She said she didn't think the girls meant to knock her down. The incident was filmed by a student on a camera phone.

4A theft of blood sugar test strips was reported at Walgreens, 6020 W. Brown Deer Road, at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 19. The suspect broke a lock on a cabinet and took a number of packages valued at more than $400, put them into his jacket and tried to leave the store. When he saw he was being watched, he dropped the strips and fled.

5An in-dash stereo valued at $300 was taken from a car in the 4200 block of West Hawthorne Trace Road on Dec. 22 or 23. Damage to the car was $200.

6A purse and contents including $200 cash and three Social Security cards were taken when left unattended by a customer at Burlington Coat Factory, 9040 N. Green Bay Road, about 6 p.m. Dec. 24. A woman put the purse on the floor while trying on a jacket and when she went to pick it up, it was gone.

7A 40-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for a parole violation and resisting arrest in the 4600 block of West Fountain Avenue at 10:50 p.m. Dec. 28. The man, who had just been released from prison after serving time for his fifth drunken driving arrest, was on a no-drink order. He, however, was drunk and fought with officers. When officers tried to handcuff him he said "I'm in control here." When told he wasn't, he told police to "Get the (expletive) off of me."


8Three pre-pay cell phones were taken from Best Buy, 8755 N. Port Washington Road, at 7 p.m. Dec. 21. Three males entered the store, one took the phones, and then they fled in a car.

9A car was sideswiped by a hit-and-run driver in the 7300 block of North Seneca Road early evening Dec. 27. The amount of damage was not available.

• An 18-year-old Milwaukee man, the man who rode a bicycle and took items from cars and garages in Fox Pont and Glendale Nov. 9 and 10, was arrested for felony burglary and misdemeanor theft Dec. 26. He had been arrested by Brown Deer police and admitted to the thefts. Some items taken in Glendale were recovered but the ones taken in Fox Point were not.


10A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for burglary and driving a car without the owner's consent in the 6800 block of North Green Bay Avenue on Dec. 20. The man broke into a relative's home sometime Dec. 11 to 20, took car keys and the relative's car. It was recovered in the 3800 block of West Garfield Avenue.

11A 46-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for driving while impaired after a 911 call of an erratic driver in the 7100 block of North Green Bay Road at 6 p.m. Dec. 21. The man, who could hardly keep his eyes open, failed field sobriety tests and admitted having a "joint" earlier in the day. He was taken for a blood draw.

12A 23-year-old Glendale man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, and driving after revocation related to his first drunken driving arrest in the 6100 block of North Port Washington Road at 1:45 a.m. Dec. 23. The man denied drinking but had a blood-alcohol content of 0.09.

13A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct at Amoco, 525 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 23. A clerk called police after the woman, a customer waiting in line, called her a name and then knocked some packages off the counter. The woman, who drove off but was stopped by Whitefish Bay police a few blocks away, admitted being angry because service was so slow but denied calling anyone names.

14A 17-year-old Madison boy was arrested for possession of 1.2 grams of marijuana and a drug pipe when he and a 17-year-old Glendale girl were found sitting in his car at Kletzsch Park, 6565 N. Milwaukee River Parkway, at 10:35 p.m. Dec. 24. The couple seemed to be sleeping and police had to knock twice before they opened the door. Both admitted smoking marijuana.


• One domestic violence incident was reported this week.


15Three laptop computers, video game systems, a smart phone and other items valued at more $2,000 were taken from the 3500 block of North Downer Avenue between noon and 10 p.m. Dec. 25. A window was forced open to gain entry.

16An 80-year-old Shorewood woman was cited for failure to yield right of way after running into a pedestrian causing minor injury on Shorewood Boulevard at Oakland Avenue at 3 p.m. Dec. 28.

• A resident reported applying for a personal assistant's job on Craigslist and receiving two checks Dec. 28. She was told to cash the checks, keep some of the money and wire the rest back to the sender. Police advised the woman to destroy the checks and call them if the senders contact her again.

17An 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man both of Waukesha were arrested for underage drinking after a resident called police to report knocking at the front door in the 3500 block of North Cramer Street just after midnight Dec. 29. When police arrived, the couple said they were looking for a friend's home and had knocked on the wrong door.


18A 22-year-old Fox Point man was arrested for drunken driving and speeding 87 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 5500 block of North Lake Drive at 2:15 a.m. Dec. 27. He was taken for a blood draw.

19A 60-year-old Shorewood woman was cited for not having insurance after she lost control of her car and it went over a curb, knocked down at least one evergreen tree and ran into the northeast corner of a house in the 4900 block of North Bartlett Avenue about 8:30 a.m. Dec. 27. The amount of damage to the house was not available.

• Reports of burglaries, attempted burglaries, entry to and attempted entry to motor vehicles, theft of at least one car and suspicious activity including footprints in and around homes were reported at more than a dozen residences Dec. 28-30.

20Jewelry, video game system, projector, $200 cash and other items valued at more than $5,000 were taken from the 5200 block of North Bay Ridge Avenue between 6 and 7:15 p.m. Dec. 28. A side door was forced open.

21Items valued at more than $3,000 including a 42-inch flat screen TV, a game system and games were taken from an unsecured home in the 5100 block of North Lydell Avenue sometime from 1 to 9 a.m. Dec. 29.

22A purse and contents valued at $140 were reported taken from a kitchen table in an unlocked home in the 4900 block of North Marlborough Drive at 5 a.m. Dec. 29.

23A resident found a truck in his driveway and saw a man break into it and drive away in the 5100 block of North Bay Ridge Avenue at 6:33 a.m. Dec. 29. According to police, the man probably had stolen the truck earlier and had locked himself out and had to break back in.

24A car was taken from the 5100 block of North Shoreland Avenue between Dec. 28 and Dec. 29. Milwaukee police found the car in the 4600 block of North 29th Street at 4 p.m. Dec. 29 after neighbors reported a car running for at least two hours.

25A 15-year-old boy was taken to Milwaukee County Children's Center for battery to a relative in the 4700 block of North Woodruff Avenue the evening of Dec. 29. He had been cited for disorderly conduct Dec. 21 and warned the next time he would be taken into custody.

26A flat screen TV, jewelry and other items were taken from the 4200 block of North Hollywood Avenue between 5:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Dec. 30. There was sign of forced entry.

27A 51-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for obstruction for filing a false police report and criminal damage to property in the 5100 block of North Marlborough Drive on Jan 1. The man had called police at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 31 to report four storage lockers were broken into and the only thing missing was his safe with $2,200 in it. After an investigation, the man admitted he'd broken into the lockers.

28 A 21-year-old Glendale woman was arrested for drunken driving in the 4800 block of North Lydell Avenue at 3:15 a.m. Jan. 1. Her BAC was 0.15.

29A 22-year-old Whitefish Bay man, 21-year-old Shorewood woman, 20-year-old Milwaukee woman and another man, age and residence not listed, were arrested for disorderly conduct after numerous complaints of a "physical altercation" and lots of yelling in the 5800 block of North Bay Ridge Avenue about 10 p.m. Jan. 1.
