1An smart phone valued at $100 was taken from either an unlocked car or a purse as the owner visited Community Bark, 326 W. Brown Deer Road, from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Aug. 10.


2A 27-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for trespassing at Channel 6, 9001 N. Green Bay Road, at 8 p.m. July 29. The man had been warned July 4 not to return to the station. On both dates, the man asked to see an on-air employee and also sent e-mails to this person saying, "I need a good drinking buddy" and he could be found "hiding in plain sight."

3Two 13-year-old Brown Deer girls were arrested for theft of thongs, shoes, tank tops and shorts valued at more than $300 from Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, about 1:30 p.m. July 30. The girls hid the stolen items under pajamas, went into fitting rooms and left with the wanted items leaving behind the pajamas and tags.

• A 19-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for unlawful use of a telephone after sending threatening text messages to a Brown Deer woman Aug. 3 and 4. The man told police the woman had his CDs, and he wanted them back. He also gave police his phone number which when dialed came back as disconnected. The suspect said it was only for text messaging, and he wanted to know if police text messaged. He was told no.

4A bicycle valued at $1,000 was taken from an apartment garage in the 4000 block of West Rivers Edge Circle on Aug. 10. The man said it was in his parking space but not secured.


5A 44-year-old New York man was arrested for drunken driving after failing to stop at a sign on Green Tree Road and Santa Monica Blvd. at 1:15 a.m. Aug. 7. The man, who admitted having "six pints of beer," had a blood-alcohol content of 0.09.

6A 57-year-old Saukville woman was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, after hitting a road sign and driving off in the 8000 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 7. She left behind a bumper and other pieces of her car, and she and her car were found in a parking lot a few blocks away. The woman said she was homeless and living out of her car which was filled with clothing, a bottle of brandy and two cats. The cats were taken to a humane society. Her BAC was 0.13.


7Three 18-year-old women, a 19-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl, all of Milwaukee, were arrested for disorderly conduct and theft after attacking a 26-year-old Milwaukee woman and not paying their bill at Applebee's, 5800 N. Bayshore Drive, at 7 p.m. July 23. The girls reportedly "jumped on" the victim and scratched her causing minor injury. They then drove away but were found at a dead end street in the 6300 block of North Lydell Avenue. The suspects and the victim knew each other.

8A 31-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for obtaining a prescription - for 120 oxycodone pills - by fraud at Ye Olde Pharmacy, 5320 N. Port Washington Road, at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 2. The pharmacist thought the prescription was suspicious and called the doctor who said his signature had been forged. The suspect said he purchased the prescription from a "black guy" in Milwaukee for $100. The man also had Adderall, Xanax and more oxycodone in his car. He admitted to becoming addicted to pain medicine after an accident.

9Two Milwaukee women, 18 and 19, were arrested on outstanding warrants after they called police to report a robbery at La Quinta Inn, 5110 N. Port Washington Road, at 4 a.m. Aug. 4. The women said a man had picked them up hours before while they waited for a bus in the 2300 block of West Greenfield Avenue. They drove to the Inn and went to his room, one of them saying, "to kick it." When they awoke the man was gone and so was a $300 purse, a $50 wallet, $50 cash and a cell phone.

10A 14-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for theft after a report of a stolen car in the 5700 block of North Argyle Avenue about 4 a.m. Aug. 6. The boy, who ran from police but was found hiding in bushes, denied being involved with the theft saying it was two other boys. He said they walked from the 5400 block of North Long Island Drive and entered unlocked cars. He said one of the other boys said he wanted to steal a car and did so when he found one with keys in the ignition.

11A 59-year-old Glendale woman was arrested for driving while impaired after a two-car accident in the 1700 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 7 p.m. Aug. 6. The woman said she "made a big mistake." Her BAC was 0.22.

12A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, driving while suspended with a prior conviction, failure to yield, possession of 0.6 grams of marijuana and resisting arrest in the 1600 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 1:20 a.m. Aug. 8. He fled from police and abandoned the car near Custer Avenue and Sherman Boulevard in Milwaukee. His passenger, a 23-year-old Milwaukee woman, drove off in the car but was stopped and arrested for obstruction. The man's BAC was 0.11.

13A wallet was taken from a purse left unattended at Stone Creek Coffee, 6969 N. Port Washington Road, about 3:30 p.m. Aug. 9. At 5 p.m. the victim received a call from her bank to notify her of suspicious activity on her credit cards.

• A 24-year-old Shorewood man was contacted for misuse of 911 after a 911 hang-up call Aug 5. The man said his Smart Phone automatically links the phone numbers of his Facebook friends and his phone had dialed one of those numbers and that one of his "friends," a female, had listed her number on Facebook as 911.

14A GPS unit valued at $200 and $60 cash was taken from a car in the 4400 block of North Bartlett Avenue Aug. 5 or 6.

15A wallet with credit cards, a Social Security card and more than $200 cash was taken when left in the men's room at Culver's, 1325 E. Capitol Drive, about noon Aug. 6.

16An 18-year-old Wauwatosa man was cited for underage drinking after he flagged down a squad car to ask for directions on Summit and Edgewood avenues at 1:45 a.m. Aug. 8. He said he'd been in a fight at a party but refused medical assistance. His BAC was 0.19.

17A laptop computer valued at $500 was taken from the 1400 block of East Olive Street the afternoon of Aug. 11. The victim said she had some friends over when the computer was taken.

18A 28-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for fraud on a cab driver after refusing to pay his $12 fare in the 3900 block of North Murray Avenue at 2:15 a.m. Aug. 12.


19A Shorewood woman reported that her Volkswagen Passat had been scratched while parked at the Jewish Community Center, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd., between 8 and 9:15 a.m. Aug. 9. All surfaces had been scratched except the roof and trunk. The amount of damage was not available.

20Two businesses' employees were the victims of "quick change" incidents Aug 10. A teller at Associated Bank, 430 E. Silver Spring Drive reported at 5:20 p.m. a man gave him four $20 bills asking for two $50s then asking for a $100 bill. As the man left, the teller realized all the money was gone. A man matching the same description "quick changed" a clerk at Sendik's, 500 E. Silver Spring Drive, at 6 p.m. This time he paid for two plums, then asked for change for a $50 bill. The clerk said she couldn't remember what happened because it happened so quickly and after the man left, she counted her drawer and was $50 short.

21More than $150 was taken from a residence in the 4700 block of North Larkin Street between 11:30 p.m. Aug. 10 and 6 a.m. Aug. 11. Entry was gained through a kitchen window.

22A woman riding a bicycle was accosted by a man also riding a bicycle near Lake and Silver Spring drives at 8:20 p.m. Aug. 12. The woman said the man made inappropriate comments to her as he grabbed the handlebars of her bike and then tried to touch her inappropriately. The man was about 35, with a "flabby build" wearing a yellow bicycle shirt and black bicycle shorts.

23A construction saw valued at $1,400 was taken from a truck in the 5600 block of North Consaul Place about 2 p.m. Aug. 13.

24More than $150 was taken from a cash register at Harder's Shell, 303 E. Hampton Road, at 8:20 p.m. Aug. 13. The attendant said a couple drove into the station and the man asked him to look at his engine. As he did, the woman went inside and took the money.


• Firefighters responded to 112 calls, 71 emergency medical and 41 fire/rescue, Aug. 2 to Aug. 8.

25A basement fire was reported in the 4600 block of North Elkhart Avenue, Whitefish Bay, at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 11. Damage was estimated at $50,000 but there were no injuries. The cause of the fire was possibly electrical.
