Homestead chamber orchestra to perform at church

Mequon - Homestead High School's chamber orchestra will perform for the first time in Christ Church's brand new facility, located at 135460 N. Port Washington Road, at 7:30 p.m. today. Admission is free.

The orchestra will perform with a guest artist, Homestead 2002 alumna harpist Kelsey Erdahl, who recently completed a one-year position with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

'L.A. Law' stars to speak on aging at JCC

Whitefish Bay - "L.A. Law" stars Michael Tucker and Jill Eikenberry will discuss Tucker's book, "Family Meals: Coming Together to Care for an Aging Parent," at 7 p.m. today at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd. The discussion is about of a program on caring for aging parents.

Holiday art fair benefits Lumen Christi Teen Outreach program

Mequon - The annual Lumen Christi Holiday Art Fair, featuring the work of more than a dozen artists, will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Lumen Christi Parish, 2700 W. Mequon Road

Items offered range from pottery and jewelry, to watercolor paintings and dried floral arrangements. Proceeds from an accompanying silent auction will benefit the Lumen Christi Teen Outreach Program.

Junior Woman's Club hosts Turkey Trot & Gobble Gallop

Thiensville - The Junior Woman's Club of Mequon-Thiensville will hold its fifth annual Turkey Trot and Gobble Gallop on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 26. The 5K run/walk will benefit the Mequon Nature Preserve. There will even be a 100-meter dash for children.

Nonperishable food donations will be collected for Family Sharing of Ozaukee County.

Museum educators to share the secrets of mummies

Mequon - The Milwaukee Public Museum's Outreach Program returns to the Weyenberg Library, 11345 N. Cedarburg Road, at 5 p.m. Monday to share the secrets of mummification in "Mummy Secrets Unwrapped."

Nicolet orchestra kicks off season today

The Nicolet High School orchestra's first concert of the season will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in the Linda Sampson Fine Arts Center at the high school, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Road. The program will feature some of the greatest rock and roll music of the last 50 years. General admission tickets to this concert are $2 for adults, and $1 for students, and are available at the door one-half hour before the concert begins.
