Learn more about the fight against breast cancer

Milwaukee — Join the discussion with national leaders and scientists on what causes breast cancer, how to prevent it and how to end it at the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Symposium Innovation and Action to End Breast Cancer beginning at 8 a.m. June 14 at the Woman's Club of Wisconsin, 813 E. Kilbourn Ave., Milwaukee. The program runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes lunch, continental breakfast, exhibits and complimentary valet parking.

Shorewood concert band plays summer concert

Shorewood — The Shorewood Concert Band is set to begin its 34th summer season. The first in a series of free concerts will be presented at noon June 14 at Atwater Park at Capitol and Lake drives in Shorewood. The concert will be held in conjunction with the Shorewood Men's Club Chicken Bar-B-Q. Come and enjoy great band music and a delicious meal.

Presbyterian church hosts summer concert series

Shorewood — The community is invited to a new series of summer evening concerts featuring local musical talent. The first performance showcases musicians with the Shorewood High Classical String Orchestra starting at 6:30 p.m. June 17 at the North Shore Presbyterian Church patio, 4048 N. Bartlett Ave.

The Summer Nights Patio Concerts takes place every third Tuesday starting in June, running through September, and each concert lasts one hour.

Everyone is encouraged to come and enjoy these events with their family, friends and neighbors. Visitors should bring folding chairs, blankets and food for a pleasant evening of music.

Glendale Senior Citizens Club holding annual picnic

Glendale — The Glendale Senior Citizens Club is holding its annual picnic at Kletzsch Park Pavilion, 6560 N. Milwaukee River Parkway, at 11:30 a.m. June 18. This is a catered event and includes broasted chicken, bratwurst and all the trimmings, including beer.

June 18 set for Bay band concert, ice cream social

Whitefish Bay — The Whitefish Bay Community Band Concert and Ice Cream Social is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 at Old School House Park, 5400 N. Marlborough Drive.
