The following students made the fall semester dean's list at Winona State University in Minnesota: from Brown Deer, Charles Bach, Nathan Seefeldt and Samuel Bach; from Mequon, Alexandra Dewey and Claire Exley; and from Thiensville, Margot Friedli.

Jacqueline Peetz of Brown Deer and Celia Carroll, Hayley Eichenbaum and Ryan Schramkowski of Shorewood made the fall semester dean's list at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. Ana Maria Vascan of Glendale and Madeleine Schweitzer of Whitefish Bay made the president's list.

Alexandria Pech of Shorewood made the fall semester dean's list at Loyola University of Chicago.


Pianist Veronica Martinez-Brockhus of Fox Point, a junior at Nicolet High School, and baritones Henry Cummings and Benjamin Kuhlmann of Shorewood, seniors at Shorewood High School, were winners in the annual Civic Music Association High School Showcase competition in January. Each earned a $250 scholarship.

The following students were winners in the Milwaukee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution's American History Essay Contest and the Good Citizen Essay Contest: Good Citizen winner Anna Linton, a senior at Whitefish Bay High School; sixth-grade winner Katy Mollwitz, Trinity Lutheran School, Mequon; and seventh-grade winner David Perry and eighth-grade winner Parker McMahon, both from Glen Hills Middle School in Glendale. Each student received $50, a medal and a certificate, and their essays were sent on to the state competition.

Ahna Lipchik of Shorewood, a Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy student, finished in first place in the senior contemporary category and third in the senior classical category of the Youth America Grand Prix student ballet scholarship competition in Chicago in January. Claire Buehler of Whitefish Bay joined Ahna on the Top 12 senior classical division leader board.
