Celebrations: Sept. 30

Sept. 27, 2010

Amy Ramirez, a graduate of Brown Deer High School, has been named a 2010-11 Caroline Scholar recipient at Mount Mary College, where she is a pre-med chemistry major. The scholarship provides one year of tuition, room and board, renewable twice, to academically talented undergraduates who show promise as leaders. Scholars must do 10 to 15 hours of service learning each week as volunteers, and their leadership skills are developed through seminars and mentoring.

Amy Nohl of Brown Deer graduated in June from DePaul University in Chicago. Amy received a bachelor of arts degree with a major in photography and a minor in French translation.

Katherine W. Joachim of Whitefish Bay, a member of the Class of 2012 at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., received faculty honors for the 2010 spring semester for a grade-point average of at least 3.667.
