Spring brings the sounds of birds singing, green grass, and rain showers instead of snow showers. With all these changes happening, we thought it would be a perfect time to make some changes at the library. Here are a few highlights:
We’ve always kept our newest materials up front and center, but because they were located on nondescript shelving they blended right in with the rest of the collection. The library has purchased smaller, more eye-catching shelving for our new fiction, new nonfiction, hot reads, and new large print. These new materials are located near the Adult Services Desk. Stop by to see the newest releases and
bestsellers in our New Materials area.
NEW MATERIALS SHELVES
We wanted to make our magazines easier to browse. With the old setup, all the titles were really spread out so it was challenging to see our entire collection. We’ve condensed the shelving, and relocated them to the north east corner of the building. They are stored in sturdier, clear cases that make for a better browsing experience.
NEW MAGAZINE SHELVING
One thing that we never had enough of was outlets for laptops and cell phones. The old seating arrangement kept most of the seating down the center aisle and grouped together in the back. With magazines out of the way, we took advantage of the space and moved most of the seating alongside the widows on the west wall of the building. It’s made studying at the library a more pleasant experience, with some sunshine and a fully charged device.
We’re always striving to make the library a better experience for you. Stop by and let us know what you think of the most recent changes.
